Stolen from repenterx from gamespot:

Planet 1 - Asari conscripted!

Planet 2 - Turians conscripted!

Planet 3 - Freed the Drell, Hanar destroyed, Drell conscripted in their stead!

Insert Major Cutscene - Shepard is actually 1/10 Reaper!

Planet 4 - Random group that doesn't make any sense conscripted!

Final chapter - Big group assault!

BioWare 101 complete.

...honestly, this is the single best plot twist I've ever heard.

Going around gathering allied races to fight the war like in DA makes perfect sense in ME3. Kind of expect that.

You do realize that Mass Effect 3 is probably close to finished already, right? At this point they're probably just working on polish and DLC.

Close to finished? It's another year out, I would imagine there is a lot of content they are still working on.

Or... it could be that you spend the whole game acquiring resources and allies and you have a big counter on your loading screen that says 6.5 billion expected casualities which goes down the more side missions you do (kidding).

This is actually an intriguing idea. You could have two counters, one that roughly measures your odds of success in beating them, that increases as you do more missions in preparation for the assault, and another that that records the casualties the reapers are inflicting, which goes up the longer you wait. You could even be cruel and allow for the possibility of humanity being wiped out by taking too long :)

and I am sure with bioware writing there will be plot twists...hopefully I mean not unless the focus follows the trend of ME2 where secondary plot lines are developed while the main plot withers and dies. But I don't think that will happen especially with this being the final game you would expect things to "wrap up", as one would put it.

Remind you all that petty bickering will get threads closed and people banned.

Mass Effect 2 IS an RPG. (Character customization, choice and level up, alignment, choice, etc). YOU may not think so. YOU (not you, the other you) may think so. Get over it.

Sorry Chris... but it's NOT as much of an RPG as YOU... YES YOU!... might think. By the standards of the Video Game community, it's more of an ACTION game than RPG. I think it is an RPG but lacking RPG ELEMENTS. Don't excuse yourself out of it saying... but it has this and that. It may but lacking a lot. Still... I think it's one of the best games. Listen to the community (the decent mature sensible community) on how to make a better RPG game.

3) Make it an RPG.

4) Remind people that ME1 and ME2 were, in fact, RPGs.

5) Remid the above poster that ME2 only qualifies as an RPG by Bioware's standards, which are just as abstract as most other defenitions of the term, and that RPG generally refers to games with gameplay mechanics derived from Dungeons and Dragons and other early tabletop games.

Remind this poster that even as far back as the 70s there were PnP RPGs with mechanics that had nothing whatsoever to do with D&D's mechanics, including games with no item progression and no experience system whatsoever.

Please, don't listen to the fans. You were succeed with excellent games so far and know what to do without our suggestions.

Perhaps, but wouldn't they have the storyline pretty much mapped out by now?  My understanding of game development cycles is limited.

I hope that is sarcasm.  I mean once you release something to the public it not only has to be yours but everyones.  We all have a stake in Bioware with it being something we cherish dearly.  By having community forumns they can gage what the overwhelming majority desires even if they do go in their own direction it is only through discussion that things can be improved and refined.

You're an idiot. What does decent mature sensible community have to do with agreeing with you? It can be from either sides, that have valid, well constructed ideas/arguments who don't rage in a pathetic way. Get your stuff straight before you try and troll me.

I love how you say "you're an idiot," and then talk about being decent, sensible, and mature.

But I agree with listening to non-ragey folks on both sides.  Just... lolling at the inherent irony of your own words.

The story's written and the levels around the story are firmly in place. No point ****ing to Bioware now, the story will be very much live DAO, and in the ME universe I have no problem with that.

Trolls deserve to either be ignored or beaten into submission with superior logic, evidence, grace, and technique.  Calling one an idiot immediately knocks you down to his level.

Besides, he wasn't trolling; he was commenting on how a lot of people are under the impression that the only feedback that Bioware should listen to is their own.  Kind of like how the RPG-purists think that Bioware should pay no attention to the more action-oriented crowd, and the actionheads want Bioware to ignore the RPGers.

You mean the "decent mature sensible" community with elitist attitudes towards anybody  who enjoys ME2 or shooters in general? the "decent mature sensible" community that goes "wow, ME2 sucks balls big time and bioware are morons" community?

Really, why should bioware listen to these people? If these people think they know what makes a great game, jollywell go be a game developer then.

Indeed. Intelligent, constructive criticism is one thing. Telling someone how to do their job is another. Acting like an entitled, know-it-all tool is only going to get you ignored.
