So Mass Effect 3 is out in the open, huge surprise there right?  
 
Lately there have been rumors that Bioware are going to include MP on Mass Effect 3. Personally I think Mass Effect does not need MP in order to "add value" to it but if they are hell bent on doing it I think they can make it interesting. What I am talking about is give the MP a story where the various species are fighting the Geth and theCollectors for domination of the Milky Way Galaxy. 
 
Maps will be set across different planets across the galaxy and the results will be aggregated from matches on each platform. This will be added towards a global results calculator that will show how the factions are doing by showing who is controlling which part of the galaxy. Of course this can would be set slightly before the events of the main story in order not to ruin the canon.

Well, without going into spoilers since this is a spoiler free forum, both Collectors and Geth were handled pretty well in earlier games, and there is no one canon on events with them to build on for this mode.
