Well I just started my second playthrough of DA:O as a mage. In my previous foray i didn't really find any fashionable mage robes, but then i wasn't looking very much... Are there any cool looking robes? E.g., all black? Or is beautifully created armour and clothes restricted to heavy armour?

Personally I think the tevinther robes look neat... but its seems like Bioware has been REALLY cheap on Leather and cloth models, theres 2 cloth and 1 leather model sets from what I can see even the specials... guees it was to up the performance but still very sad.

I think the one my character is wearing is pretty cool. It's on the tevinter robes and reapers vestments. They remind me of Duncan's clothes.

It's pretty obvious that if you want to be fashionably awesome.. you need to go massive plate. It seems to have the largest variety of models... everything else just looks like crap. Leliana has been wearing the exact same armor since she joined the team.. the only difference is that upgrades change the color slightly.
Very disappointing.

At least mages have some variation. Not only do rogues get stuck with the same armor all the way through but it's butt ugly. What were they thinking?

Screw this frigid southern country. I'll head to Orlais, capital of fashion, and fight the blight from there with the other Gray Wardens.

For a game as dark as DA, I'm just surprised they didn't include a token Assassin style leather armer set. I mean, they have the dark knight massive armor for the warriors...
bleh.. I'm not looking forward to playing an assassin/dualist build.

Mage motto: "We design the robes so that others laugh at our apprentices. Then we teach our apprentices battle magic."

Trouble with the leather is it makes females look as if they're deformed. Very odd backs... doesn't look quite right.
I found some Chasind robes which sort of look... kinda... S&M really....

I think there are three different robe models, one of which is the Chantry robe and has absolutely no use in battle.
All the other are just recolorings of the same two models. Between the two, I prefer the Tevintir robes personally.

Ohh! we could go Shoe shopping together!!
more on topic: i still keep morrigan with her default robe and no hat. That should say a LOT about the other robes/hats in game =p

The Circle robes make my mage look like she raided the larder and it went straight to her hips.
The Tevinter robes and I believe the Archon robes look best. But they are the same robe just different colors. I want more robes damn it, my mage is supposed to be fashionable while splattered with blood.

I agree somewhat. Mage robes are so-so but not what I'd consider good-looking, especially on females. That belt they wear reminds me of the chastity belt in Princess Bride; big and gaudy - I'd prefer a laced sash or similar. The hats that look like potato sacks with fangs are ugly, but I don't mind the higher level ones like the Enchanter's hood or similar. The game needs circlets/tiaras as an option.
