I suppose to clarify, my main concern with multiple discs is the restrictions it places on gameplay because the plot has to be developed around the need for disc swapping.

As for the royalties, I'm wondering if the issue with my post is that I insist Microsoft gets per disc royalties or that I claimed the price tag would increase to $90. Because the first part is true and the second part was hyperbole. In my experience, any increase in the price of making a product tends to increase the end price unless you feel the changes to the product will increase sales to offset the cost. Though even then, the increase in cost of production tends to be a good excuse to raise the cost in spite of increased sales.

I think that it is not number of discs. it's all about quality. two discs is way enough for ME 3. maybe if it would be produced for Blu-ray, it will be only one disc. I prefer less disc. or just download digital version? but I want to own retail version because it is worthy in terms of instant gratification. download is taken too long. I assume the whole data size will be more than 15GB at least for ME 3.

I think at this point we can concede that 2 disks is a minimum so its an evil we just have to deal with.

And in terms of a third disc, what if its not part of the main campaign?  What if they were to use it to include the much feared/expected multiplayer?

As I'd said in an older thread arguing over this issue, the ID claim of economic infeasibility just doesn't fly.  There is no way its costing them $7 more per disc and it DEFINITELY wasn't for royalties.  I'm glad we finally have a link to show that the entire fiasco was B.S.

I own a Xbox and I dont mind swaping discs, of course If the game could be installed on hd it would be much easier.

Microsoft should stop selling consoles without a hd, as it became something really necessary.
