No. You dont know that, all you know as the council dismessed the reapers. So no excuse.scarface71795 wrote...

Its stupid, they should fgo after the citadel, close the relays and keep the galaxy isolated, no species knows how to make thier own relay. But nope I get the feeling the reapers will be made into idiots so shepard can win.
I'm guessing they finally believe Shepard and Have put thousands of ship there no matter what happens elsewhere
Because they know they would be cut off if the reapers took it
So they are probably all armed with Thanix cannons and all the high tech weaponry they could get while the thousands of other ships fight for the planets.
And if they do attack the fleets would rush to the station and the reapers would be even more outnumbered than at the first battle
Reaper fleet > other fleets
It woudnt be impossible for the reapers to get it. hell if the citadel is locked they could just use the conduit.
Did you even watch the first batte ?
It took the council and aliance fleets to kill one reaper, alone all focusing on one reaper...
Now they couldnt focus on just one, they would also die alot faster, meaning reapers would still mop the floor with them.
Soverign got in before the citadel closed.
Alsothe keepers obviously still work for the reapers, see the vid in LoTSB keepers can kill, and they are pretty much infinante from an unknown source, the reapers have an army there mretty much.

Sure i don't know that but to me it seems very likely seeing how everything Shepard has said has been true and as people have been saying it's going to take the Reapers on the Council's doorstep for them to wake up and listen to Shepardthis isnt my name wrote...

Well Ring-a-ding-ding
They dismissed the claim without proof
The reapers have attacked. They are at war and i'll be damned if Bioware comes up with that excuse again that they have no evidence.
Why else would Saren head to the council Chamber
At this point they have to believe and listen to Shepard
Hell they might even blow the station.
Unless it damages the Relays
Discuss
Also did you see the part where i said upgraded Weapons from the dead reaper?

Besides if the citadel is locked up then we cant get out "ah yes reapers" line to use on the turian counciler.

They had no proof that it was a reaper that attacked them
Now they have Hundreds of ships attacking the home planet along with the possible evidence from the ending of ME2 and by locked up i meant heavily guarded
But this might not be the case based on how long the battles been going on
get it?

However, if you think about, earth is home to a major species that is a military power for the council, a rising power in the galaxy and so far the only basic group to have done anything about it (Shepard, Cerebus, Anderson & hell, I even reckon Hackett may believe in the reapers). Not only that, they're also close to the edge of the galaxy and you have a special interest in them, according to the last game. Seems like a perfect place to start from (with the added bonus that you can make it a sneak attack). Wiped out the majority of your biggest threat.

Yeah the fact they have been a week and are still fighting pisses me off. Its like benezia in ME1 hyped up then she just opens a few doos and gets shot and dies... They just change the way things should be to let people win, which is wrong imo.konderus wrote...

I think spreading out their forces while they're in a potentially vulnerable position would be a dumber thing to do. They need to establish a beach head from which to move out since they effectively no longer have control of the Citadel.
So why don't they attack the Citadel?
Exactly from strategic point of view it is far more important than Earth no matter what...in ME1 reapers knew that. In ME3 they seem to forget...
So it's a plot hole?
Or, hold onto your seat, it's something that they just didn't choose to address for the first trailer!!! Crazy, I know. We should just keep whining and complaining until the next trailer comes out so we can make more assumptions.

I agree.
Besides, my main FemShep is a Colonist, she doesn't give a damn about Earth, she'd sooner save Thessia, Irune (Volus homeworld), Sur'Kesh (Salarian homeworld) and hell, even Mars as a major human Prothean excavations' museum (to make Liara happy

Where do you get the idea that they were only attacking Earth? Shepard isn't there so it's obvious that something important is happening in other parts of the galaxy and nowhere does it say that Earth is the only place being attacked.Marzillius wrote...
This worries me. I thought there would be an awesome story with the whole galaxy under attack, like the Reapers has always done before. Why are they only attacking Earth? It seems very... silly.
Well, I'll of course get the game.

Personally i am glad they are including Earth in the game i've been wanting it since the first game when i figured out i couldn't land on Earth. And if that is the turf for the final battel with the Reapers i say go for it. We already had the battle for the Citadel in the first game i don't see why they need to repeat themselves.
As far as the teaser goes focusing on Earth. I have a feeling that we'll get several short trailers like that focusing on different planets struggle against the reapers. Kinda like for ME2 when we had several short trailers focusing on party members. We'll get to find out more about what planets will be involved in ME3.

No they are not, that's why Navarra needed help to take on the citedel fleet in ME 1, why you were able to find a dead reaper in two and why they leave their tech behind in the first place. They need organics to follow a certain path, otherwise we become unpredictable and a more significant threat.

Because that is what people love to do on here.Moondoggie wrote...
Why are people suddenly deciding from a 1 minute teaser trailer the whole story of the game? Seriously stop taking it so literally. Let's wait until we know more about the game before we decide "hey i don't like the story to this game they should have done it this way!" Just because earth is under attack in the trailer doesn't mean it's the ONLY place that is or will be under attack. Calm down all you fans of other planets i'm sure you'll get the chance to fight for your favourite planet too.
It's hilarious to me that there have been people clamoring for us to go to Earth in the past two games and when Bioware shows that we will more than likely going there, the conversation all of a sudden turns to "why are we just on Earth?!!!".Personally i am glad they are including Earth in the game i've been wanting it since the first game when i figured out i couldn't land on Earth. And if that is the turf for the final battel with the Reapers i say go for it. We already had the battle for the Citadel in the first game i don't see why they need to repeat themselves.

And in a few hours, no less. I'd even dare say it didn't get to one hour before the 5th Fleet (humans!) killed Sovereign.
Don't go around hating when you have to omit facts for your opinion to hold water.
Besides, it is still unclear if the Reapers are culling humans to create their new brother. If so, it makes all the more sense this is getting dragged for weeks.
Further, as I said in another thread, the Reaper's true devastating power comes from their attack strategy - attack the center of government, cut communications and use indoctrinaed agents in conjunction with blitz attacks.
All of these were rendered useless when Sovereign was killed and the Reaper embryo destroyed.
