What ME3 needs is for the relationship between the Villain and Shepherd to be personal. Personally, I think there should be a traitor within Shepherd's ranks. Someone we've known from the beginning and trust. Then mid way through the game it turns out they are either indoctrinated or under direct control by a Reaper (A new one, not harbinger) resulting in the death of a crew member (Someone we care about, not some no name dude who sits in the corner pressing buttons.)

I know some people would say "NOOO!! I dont wants mi favort persun to dies!!" But it is the end of the trilogy, and some good guys have to die. Its the best way to create drama, emotion and true hatred for the enemy and potentially the main villain.

When I think about it Sovereign VA also made a better job...he truly acted and sounded like a machine...

And that is why I start questioning their intelligence in this topic...Drew Karpyshyn made great enemies and homage to Cthulhu mythos...don't turn them into another random threat of the galaxy only because it's cool at the moment...

Indeed.  I do wonder why Harbinger was made to sound different to Sovereign when the voice was so strong.  I would understand a different voice actor for a different Reaper of course, but why not use the same audio trickery to also give Harbinger that same alien, robotic sound that Sovereign had?  So as not to give the ending twist away I suppose.  Even so, a real shame.  It doesn't seem a good enough reason to cut away a huge part of what made a Reaper the thing it is.

I hope the Reapers attack on earth is not because of something so petty as revenge.  If the Reapers are meant to be a super race whose motivations are totally alien, they should be above such things.  I hope the mystique is kept intact along with the threat.

You have seen 1 minute of a trailer on ME3 and suddenly the writers are dumbing down the game? Really? Really?

People like to make assumptions. You know that.

Assumption made on previous experience...and don't tell me Harbinger was as bloodcurdling as Sovereign was...they have to regain their former glory as truly formidable and intelligent opponents and not some random one line spouting babblers...

And Chris I said that I HOPE that it WON'T be that way...and that this time around Mr. Walters will read wiki more thoroughly....:innocent:

Yeeeahhh, Thats right chris dismiss this claim.

Correct me if I am wrong Chris, but I remember you also saying that we could "customize" our squaddie's armor in ME2 (read: not just alternate between two different colors, but much like the inventory of ME1/Shep Armor ME2)...
Please, Chris, prove to me that this is the case.  I will gladly await your reply in one year.

In other news, it actually makes more sense to wipe out Earth first if the Reapers could not get to the Citadel, seeing as humans have been the ones to stop them twice.

This is how I remember Sovereign.

...aaand this is how I remember Harbinger.

I guess you all see the difference. Turian councilor wasn´t so wrong about "the Reapers" after all...sadly.

People assume that it's only in earth when it isn't. So they attack Earth and Sheard goes there, we know that much, but there are probably around 10,000 to 30,000 Reapers and there were around only 5 shown in the trailer and not all of earth was in flames from Shepard's view and no others were seen heading to earth. Im guessing that they only send a handful of Ships to each planet to eradicate it. Where are the other Reapers?

Obviously attacking the rest of the galaxy. Earth is either where the final battle is, and when we get to it is completaly destroyed or it's ME3's Eden Prime and afterwards we go to fight in other planets.

I Wouldn't worry too much. People said a lot about ME2's story (specially Shepard's ressurection) but everything worked out fine. BW hasn't let me down yet and I doubt they will.

Lmao, I can still take Harbinger seriously. But all the jokes about them two turned them into something else.

You know how these things go down :) always.....
Also, it is not really the trailer I guess, but the first description of the game stating that Shepard will look for allies throughout the galaxy to defend earth. Missleading words of marketing? We shall see.

And the baby elcor will probably be "mildly amused". Elcor are big!

There is a lot of speculation going on here. All we really know is that Earth is being attacked. We don't know if anywhere else is. We also know that if the Reapers are able to take the Citadel then they could shut down the Relay network. If they did that the whole galaxy would be screwed because then only the Reapers could use the Relays.

Although if I were to speculate I think that the Reapers would take the Citadel and shut down the Relay network and seeing as how the Normandy has a Reaper IFF I can imagine that it would be able to use the Relays as well. Maybe thats how Shepard gets help for Earth because maybe that would allow any ships that are with the Normandy to use the Relays. That would give Shepard a huge bargaining chip if he was a renegade to get the council races involved after he had royally screwed them over in ME1.

Next time, subtract the implied insult from your comments. People might take your suggestions more seriously if you didn't make such a charged statement when we've seen one trailer about a game that's due to be released in a year.

Seems that a lot of people when writing something similiar as this are forgetting about EA store description, which sounds as another ME 2.

So it´s not just a teaser. But I agree, we will know more after more teasers and hopefully less generic sounded descriptions.

Indeed, here is the current game description:

"Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the earth."

I would like to see the "Earth" replaced with "galaxy" and "humanity"/"mankind" replaced with "galactic civilisation"

1 minute teaser aside, I don't know what else we're supposed to think ME3 will be about.

The traitor will proably be Joker and he proably doesn't have brittle bone syndrom...it was all just a lie(Just look at the stuff he does at the end) LOL

or The evil person will turn and kill Joker and all my hopes and dreams of romancing him will be over either way lol.
