Alright Mass Effectors, we got a glimpse of what to expect from ME3 with the awesome trailer that was released.

Now, who is up to the challenge of NOT looking at any ME3 media until after you've played ME3? A complete ME3 media blackout... I mean, no videos, pictures, or articles relating to ME3.  That would also mean staying out of the ME3 forum and website when that is created....  but of course look at release date info so you can pre-order!

I did it for ME2... it was brutal, but the feeling of going in to ME2 without looking at anything related to ME2 (except the first Legion reveal trailer) was great, and experiencing ME2 without really knowing anything in advance was fantastic.  Like I said, difficult, but well worth it in the end.

So.... who is with me?

I admire your resolve.  It takes a strong will to resist scratching that itch.

However, ME2 had some great promos, introducing the characters.  It would seem to be a disservice to deny yourself those.  Some of them had some interesting renders, like Miranda was particularly interesting.

I always considered those Squad Member profile videos, which I saw at Game Trailers, to be part of the ME2 experience, even though the majority of them weren't in the game.  They're here, in case you haven't seen them yet:

Thanks for the link, but I made sure to watch every bit of ME2 media after I beat the game :)

I do understand how it could be a disservice, but I think the reward of going in blind and seeing all these characters for the first time more than makes up for it.

I have to admit that games generally turn out to be better if you go in without any expectations, for me it was definitely true with ME1.

But part of the fun is also the anticipation, learning more about the game and discussing it with people in the community. I wouldn't be disciplined enough to stay away from anything related ME3 for longer than a day xD.

I'll try to avoid any interviews with producers/developers that give away anything specific about what might happen...I don't want to read about someone saying "oh this and this might happen to this character." Other than that, I need to see and hear everything that is Mass Effect 3 until its release.

I doubt I have the resolve to avoid all the juicy bits of news and reveals coming our way over the next few months, but kudos to anyone that can. I'll certainly do my best though to avoid any 'discussion' threads on this site though.

I think I would have broken my ME2 disk in half, if I hadn'd realized in advance the "no squaddie armor" thing.

So no, thanks, I prefer to stay informed and updated on any crap BioWare decides to pull by the end of the series.

All valid points... I agree with wanting to know vague things, but after watching some ME2 trailers after I beat the game, I was surprised about how much was given away. Didn't that bother anyone when going in to ME2? Particularly the Normandy being destroyed?

Im going to try to stay uninformed. But I do wanna know the new voice talents. The brittish chap in the trailer is awesome. For the rest i'm going cold turkey for mass effect 3. After this trailer im going to try a full media black out.

ME 2 was awesome but knowing who archangel was from the videos spoiled a lot.

I just hope BioWare learned their lesson with those spoilerific Trailers (especially the Character Trailers) and don't ruin the surprise for us.

I really want to do that, but I'm not sure if I can pull it off. That said, I expect that we get concept art in a few weeks or so.

The only problem I have with the trailers is that I can't stand the looks of Sheploo no more!

I'm really interested in this, I thought about this before ME2 too.

But if we decide for it it would be good to stick together and support each other :)

I'm not gonna participate in dev chats anymore. There was always a group of fans who assumed everyone knew who and what Legion was.

Also, one of great things bout ME2 was waiting. Watching stuff like "Art of the Game" etc. Visiting website day after day lookin' for new stuff.

I hope BW won't spoil that much this time though.

Ah well, I guess I´ll have to decide according to the amount/importance of info shown in the trailers etc... ^^

Ah, ok, if you know the option exists then chose against it, then that is a genuine decision.  More power to you.

Hey, just in case you start the media blackout soon even from the forums, I'll see you Holiday 2011!

For me, the anticipation and the info-drip is half the fun! Besides, if I don't pay attention I won't be able to jump on top of the Uber Collector's Edition as fast.

kidbd15 - I'm with you! Not knowing anything about ME2 when I played it was fantastic. I had no idea Garrius or Tali would be back etc etc. Everything was a complete suprise:)
