1. Squad Disposition - I want to alter the aggressiveness of my squad mates - should they run into battle straight away or flank? Should they hold their ground and take cover when injured or immediately retreat in order to recover? Should they spam powers or concentrate on firing weapons?

2. Space Battles in some format but I've no idea how they'd fit - they just seem cool :D

3. Seeing the effects of free-ing the Rachni Queen, keeping the krogan genophage data, and unifying the geth come to fruition.

4. A plot that doesn't go along the lines of there being some super mega shiny anti-Reaper weapon that just so happens to be hidden on Earth. It's cliché - the odds are clearly hugely stacked against us based on the damage that Sovereign alone did. I want the galaxy to unite and fight for survival - don't give us cheap tactics to win Bioware!

5. The plot to feel galactic - the extinction cycle is galaxy-wide. Whilst I can kinda understand why they'd hit humanity first (Shepard has ruined 2 of their plans) - I really don't want this to be OMG humanity is getting attacked and ignore the rest of the galaxy.

1. Garrus. He's my favorite character.

2. I want our decisions to mean more than numbers. I mean, I saved the Rachni, Wrex (who ran the Krogan, last time I checked), and the Geth work against the Reapers now. I want to see the collective armies of those three (plus Salarians, Turians, Humans, Quarians, Asari, et cetera),killing the Reapers to death, and I want their presence to be noticable.

3. More weapons. I think we need a compromise between ME1 and ME2 inventory. The first was rather tedious (but bearable), the second was a little *too* minimalistic and simple for my tastes.

4. How about some big battles? To my memory, it's always shep's squad *maybe* plus one vs a ton of the enemy. I'm not sure the engine could handle it, but what if we got some allies and some more enemies (we shouldn't control them) to really give it that sense of scale?

5. I really can't stress this whole Garrus thing enough. He's such a great character.

A long shot, but it would be nice to be able to import previous saves across consoles/platform.

More exploration, both in level design and/or in larger world map (i.e. vehicular).

Subsequently not a must but it would be nice to have more side quests and activities to do.

More robust customization on every level possible.

Lastly, and probably the one I will realistically expect is actual significant consequences to choices imported from ME1/2 and not just some random dialogue triggers.

1: Lots of squad dialogue, like tons of it.

2: More practical outfits or squaddies with option for customisation.

3: Modifiable guns and maybe a few new guns just to mix things up.

4: Less linear combat sequences

5: Big epic well written plot with lots of twists, intrigue and an awesome finale.

And also more missions like the suicide mission would be nice to, where all ur squad mates are used and you get to pick there jobs. Example: Garrus as team 2 leader ect.

1. <-

2. Richer RPG features (I know it's promised, but I really would like to see it)

3. On tactical front - High profile and low profile setting for squadmates. When to be more careful and when to rush forward to kill everything that moves. If enemy AI will be smarter, we could use it.

4. An attitudinize return of your ME1 LI and Anderson. (with a more important role, after all, you didn't built up those characters for not playing a role in the endgame. Or maybe I'm just a fan of framed structures.)

5. More dialogues, action-free sequences (either investigations or pure RPG missions like Thane's or Samara's loyalty quest in ME2), that kind of stuff.

I have no doubt that no matter the final product Bioware puts out for ME3, it'll be of utmost quality.  With that said, let me throw in what I'd like to see.

1.

lumen11 wrote...
- Romance Under Fire
Have romances continue outside of the Normandy in the heat of things.

To expand on that, I'd like more situations where you see and interact with squadmates ala Virmire.  It would be nice to know there's life outside of the Normandy, no matter how great a ship it is.

2. We already know they'll be making decisions in past games relevant.  But yeah, pretty important.  And I suppose since we're talking about past stuff, more interrupts.

3.  More expansive cities, similar to the Citadel in ME1.  While it seems a waste to put lots of work into a city/area that like territories in ME2, only received fractions of gameplay, I never got the sense that Ilium was a major Asari trade port, Tuchanka was the Krogan homeworld, etc.  It goes a long way to feeling like these places are important.

4.  More dialogue.  For how much we did to gain loyalty, it didn't feel like it ... except for that whole living thing.

5.  Most importantly, a massively epic final battle.  This is a fight for the galaxy vs. the Reapers, a race we've come to understand being the most powerful ever.  While I'm pretty sure missions will include gathering soliders and weakening the Reapers, the final battle is where the money's at.  Timing-wise, I'd like to see something like 3 hours to really showcase the scale of this war.

So yeah, logistically this stuff is near impossible.

1. More branching plot trees/consequences.(death of x =/= 1 liner)

2. More refined combat(basic guns and movement) and weapons/armor.(+helmet toggle!)

2. Better facial and body animations (sometimes a facial expression says more than words)

3. More character development. Including Shepard (eg LotSB when liara asked shep a question. good for the player, to remind us of the character we're playing/who shep is.)

4. longer/expanded missions for important plot points with awesome set pieces (not filled with vehicle fluff. and i dislike the mission complete screen. very jarring and takes me out of the exp. maybe a mission status could be updated in the terminal)

5. Better loot/items with a Mineral(?) and economy balance. i always felt very poor in ME2 :<

I'll start by saying that ME2 was pretty epic, and I only want very few things to change or be installed:

1. Shep being able to save the universe and *not* die in the process. My shep has a date with Liara at the end of the trilogy on a beach somewhere.

2. Deeper conversations with the characters, like in DA. Also, being able to talk to the team while on a mission. Finally, having my team talk to me instead of me always going to them.

3. A betrayal by a loyal squad member.

4. same sex option!

5. a mix of ME1 and ME2 inventory.

1. Squad influence system like the one in Kotor2 and Dragon Age. It would be great to be able to sway a squad member's disposition to either paragon or renegade. It would be even better if squad members gained abilities based on their paragon/renegade rating.

2. More RPG elements. I don't expect the attribute and skill system in D&D or the clunky inventory in ME1 but they should have some kind of skill point system that allows for more customization, some kind of inventory system, and various consumable items.

3. Better powers. The powers in ME1 and 2 were pretty unimpressive. In fact, the powers got worse in ME2. It would be nice to get some powers that let you manipulate the environment. At the very least, there should be powers that lets you add or remove cover.

4. Give squad members more to do. Your squad basically only serve as extra guns in ME1 and 2. It would be nice if you could use your squad member's skills to solve problems in ME3 like in certain parts of KotoR2 and NWN2. For example, if you had Thane with you, he could find a secret route through an area and allow you to avoid a confrontation. If you had Tali with you, she could remotely reprogram security robots to turn on the enemy. After all, what's the point of recruiting all these people with specialized skills if you're not going to use their skills.

5. Enemies that don't scale as much. I don't want to be fighting lowly mercenaries that are as powerful as elite troops created by the Reapers.

I doubt that will happen. Many characters have been revealed, and at most they would probably introduce 2 new squad members. There's even a likelihood that any squad member they introduce might be a character who already has been seen, like Captain Kirrahe. Besides, the focus of ME2 was on squad characters. This time, it's about the galactic civilizations.

My five, in no particular order:

1.  A true open world environment with randomly generated quests and enemies, at least in certain areas.  IE, I don't ever want to "finish."  Even if its something dinky like the cop car missions in GTA IV.

2.  Vehicle exploration, IF IT DOESNT SUCK!  The Mako was too slow to regen and climb hills, while the Hammerhead was too squishy and you couldn't get out of the stupid thing.  Make a hover-Mako that gets shields back a a reasonable rate and we're good.

3.  All classes to be at least interesting to play on harder difficulties.  Adepts Warp, Warp, Warp... gets old.

4.  Multiplayer, IF IT DOESN"T SUCK!  This could be the jewel or the anchor of the series.  Fragfest CoD or Halo style MP just won't work here, but there is definitely room to make something happen.  If MP is a part, make it somehow integrated into the single player.  IE, have MP advancements contribute to the single player and vice versa.  This doesn't have to be huge, just an incentive to do both.  Further, MP needs a robust and independent leveling and rewards system.  Think any of the last 4 CoD games, or Halo: Reach.  (As a side note, if Bioware wants to scrap MP from ME3 and put it into an entirely separate spin-off game, I'd be cool with that.)

5.  More RPG customization.  This means characters and items.  ME1 was on the right track, just needed some tweaking in the inventory department.  ME2's system of specialization at 4th tier levels was really neat as well, but there wasn't enough diversity.  (As another side, I've always been interested in a possible RPG where you don't select a class at the start but rather gradually.  IE Any starting character can slowy change to any class or combination of classes.  Think something like the talent trees in WoW.  You can specialize or diversify, except across classes.  Might not work for ME3, but would be cool to try.)

Also adding toggle helmet and space combat from a previous post.

Tali has AI Hacking. That's about as remote as she can get, lol.

I agree. That goes back to my wish of focusing on the central plot: new troops, more background into the Reapers, etc., kinda like in Mass Effect 1, where every mission, no matter how remotely involved with the main storyline, had an element of that central plot in it. I just hope that ME3 will focus more on story this time around.

1. Loot

I know reducing the the loot in ME1 to medi-gel was tedious, but come on, you can't just scrap the idea of finding objects altogether. It's half the fun of an RPG. Devastating countless hordes of enemies is a lot more enjoyable when you have the prospect of scavenging through all of their belongings afterwards.

2. Customization

I'm sort of hoping for a balance between ME1 and ME2. I liked the many different armor options of ME1, such as finding better armors in loot, but I really liked the customizations you were able to make in ME2. There just wasn't a lot of versatility when it came to what weapons/armor you got to choose in ME2. Either you picked the one piece of armor that was customizable, or you went with a different suit that wasn't customizable at all. I'd also like the return of squadmate armor customization. As far as weaponry goes, I'm fine with a small number of weapons, but no weapon mods? Come on.

3. ME1 Squadmates

I know this probably isn't much of a concern to other players, but it is to me. I'm just really hoping that Ashley (or Kaiden), along with other ME1 squadmates, are recruitable in ME3. In actuality, I'm just hoping there's some kind of payoff for being faithful to Ashley and not boning Miranda when I had the chance.

4. Paragon/Renegade

This feature was a lot more reliable in ME1 than in ME2. I really like the idea for Paragon/Renegade interrupts, but the system is too biased. Paragons really get the short end of the stick in ME2. Whereas Renegades get to push people out of windows, and electrocute helicopter pilots, what do Paragons get? Honestly, nothing of rememberance comes to mind. Aside from the new interrupt feature, the distribution of Paragon/Renegade points in ME2 is really flawed. I went through an entire playthough of ME1 getting just Paragon points, without getting a single point in the Renegade bar. In ME2, you can get unintentional Renegade or Paragon points for just about anything. I remember getting both Renegade and Paragon points for killing the Thresher Maw on Grunts' Rite of Passage. That just doesn't make sense to me...

5. RPG Feel

ME2 was an amazing step forward in terms of combat. Along the way it lost a lot of important RPG aspects... The levels are so linear now, they're basically just straight hallways with a few open rooms and wallsafes. Mission Summary? Please for the love of god get rid of that. I know BioWare is trying to appeal to a larger audience, but a lot of people that have been playing from the start are going to feel like they're getting the shaft if they introduce something as drastic as multiplayer this late in the series.  I'm all for a spinoff series (shooter, MMO, whatever), but don't destroy the actual trilogy with frills and gimmicks to appeal to the Call of Duty crowd.

THIS. I never got in ME that we can't go to a squad member during a mission and talk to them. In ME you get a comment when you click on them and ME2 has certain trigger points for dialogue but why not have certain conversations in certain areas when you click on them? Even Jade Empire had the ability to do this and that's  like the worst Bioware game

Also not having everyone blindly follow Shepard and showing their own personalities more and not just for their own personal missions. Why must everyone agree with everything Shep does? Can't they question it and lose Loyalty like how in DA we lose approval for doing things they dislike and it could push them to leave. Why not in ME?
