1. Loot
I know reducing the the loot in ME1 to medi-gel was tedious, but come on, you can't just scrap the idea of finding objects altogether. It's half the fun of an RPG. Devastating countless hordes of enemies is a lot more enjoyable when you have the prospect of scavenging through all of their belongings afterwards.
2. Customization
I'm sort of hoping for a balance between ME1 and ME2. I liked the many different armor options of ME1, such as finding better armors in loot, but I really liked the customizations you were able to make in ME2. There just wasn't a lot of versatility when it came to what weapons/armor you got to choose in ME2. Either you picked the one piece of armor that was customizable, or you went with a different suit that wasn't customizable at all. I'd also like the return of squadmate armor customization. As far as weaponry goes, I'm fine with a small number of weapons, but no weapon mods? Come on.
3. ME1 Squadmates
I know this probably isn't much of a concern to other players, but it is to me. I'm just really hoping that Ashley (or Kaiden), along with other ME1 squadmates, are recruitable in ME3. In actuality, I'm just hoping there's some kind of payoff for being faithful to Ashley and not boning Miranda when I had the chance.
4. Paragon/Renegade
This feature was a lot more reliable in ME1 than in ME2. I really like the idea for Paragon/Renegade interrupts, but the system is too biased. Paragons really get the short end of the stick in ME2. Whereas Renegades get to push people out of windows, and electrocute helicopter pilots, what do Paragons get? Honestly, nothing of rememberance comes to mind. Aside from the new interrupt feature, the distribution of Paragon/Renegade points in ME2 is really flawed. I went through an entire playthough of ME1 getting just Paragon points, without getting a single point in the Renegade bar. In ME2, you can get unintentional Renegade or Paragon points for just about anything. I remember getting both Renegade and Paragon points for killing the Thresher Maw on Grunts' Rite of Passage. That just doesn't make sense to me...
5. RPG Feel
ME2 was an amazing step forward in terms of combat. Along the way it lost a lot of important RPG aspects... The levels are so linear now, they're basically just straight hallways with a few open rooms and wallsafes. Mission Summary? Please for the love of god get rid of that. I know BioWare is trying to appeal to a larger audience, but a lot of people that have been playing from the start are going to feel like they're getting the shaft if they introduce something as drastic as multiplayer this late in the series. I'm all for a spinoff series (shooter, MMO, whatever), but don't destroy the actual trilogy with frills and gimmicks to appeal to the Call of Duty crowd.
