While it has been well over a month since I played Mass Effect 2, I remember well enough that the characters were part of the central plot...i.e. assembling a team of competent individuals so as to make certain that you can complete your final objective.

More focus on the final objective in Mass Effect 1 was possible because, with the exception of Liara, you already had your party assembled before your left the Citadel.

Depending on how many party members survived in one's imported saved game, and how many of them that BioWare brings back, expect some running around to gather people to fight by your side.

1st. Clip system redesigned as a SINK system, many have said how. combine both ME1 and ME2.
-Have sinks be stand alone each, you could use just one sink the entire map if you wish, but the drawback is to let it cooldown. etc this has been explained many times elsewhere.

I just don't see this working from a balance standpoint. Either the single heat sink will take too long to cool down, making it useless - or the cooldown will be too short, making switching heat sinks useless.

5. Side quests and some variations to main quests depending on Shepard's background and serivce history. (E.g. Hannah Shepard *needs* to be in the game if we're playing Spacers.)

4. More interaction between squadmates (and Normandy crew too, if possible) so that we feel even more like a true team (as opposed to everyone just interacting with Shepard).

3. Pitch-perfect pacing. There should be frantic, racing drama, and' there should also be moments of quiet reflection / introspection - but each in their proper time and place. If there is something urgent to be done, and it's treated in-game as essential that we get there very quickly, we shouldn't then be given a jillion little sidequests on the way, or the opportunity to dither much. (This isn't a criticism of the suicide mission; I like the fact that Shepard has fair enough reasons for delaying or going on it immediately when the time comes. This is for situations where there can be no possible RP justification for delaying. I'm thinking of something similar to chapter two of BG2: from a roleplaying point of view, one should go to save Imoen as soon as one has the 10,000gp one needs to earn - but, from a gaming point of view, one wants to get as many sidequests done as possible beforehand. This is jarring. Gameplay and RPing shouldn't conflict. Urgency and more relaxed moments should sync in terms of both.)

2. An ending that exceeds even the amazing endings of both ME1 and ME2 (and doesn't kick me in the gut like the endgame of DA:O; I've had enough of being "punished" for investing emotionally for now).

1. Kaidan. He's not everyone's favourite character, but a lot of us are very fond of him, and we already endured the wait from ME1 to ME2 only to get *very* little of his character. I hope our continued wait for ME3 will really pay off.  (Of course, this applies to Ashley too, but Kaidan tends to make it through more of my games than she does; my mentioning of him before her is just a question of personal perference.  Also, I hope their dialogue is clearly differentiated!)

- Romance Under Fire
Have romances continue outside of the Normandy in the heat of things.

This was slightly seen in Mass Effect 1 as more or less a hint of affection.
While on the Citadel in the Wards by the place where the anti-alien protester is chilling, there's a short cinematic/dialogue where if you have Ashley with you, the two of you start talking a little bit about how beautiful the Citadel and the Destiny Ascension are, and she kind of gives you a beaming look.
I'd like more of this as well. =D

1. Returning squadmates.
2. Conrad Vernor.
3. Homeworlds of the various aliens (including Rakhana and Rannoch).
4. More Citadel exploration. I wasn't too happy about the lack of Citadel area in ME2.
5. Commander Shepard saying "**** WHAT" to the Council when the Reapers attack, depending of course on whether it's the original Council.

Actually I have only one thing. Pre-LotSB Liara. I didn't like the way they changed her.

Indeed. The way Kaidan /Ash romance was handeled made me feel warm and fuzzy inside and I rarely care so much about a game romance. I didn't even have to check the Wiki if Kaidan was a LI, I immediately knew it because of his behavior. These small hints of affection made me feel like the LI mattered. Would be a bummer if Kaidan/Ash came back in ME3 and all the romance would give you is a snuggle end scene in the dark corners of Shep's room.

Removable helmets for ingame and DLC stuff...seriously....include it!  If they demo this at a gaming event, I might just die happy.

Also, the romancing someone else in ME2 should not have a negative affect in ME3. The romanced person in ME1 didn't give a flying frak about Shepard upon his return in ME2. In fact, Shepard should be calling them out in ME3 and definitely not the other way around.

Can we get another ship? I understand the need for the Normandy to be a small stealth ship when doing covert missions, but this is war. We need a huge mother of a new ship...and a quest to obtain that ship wouldn't hurt either.

More biotics and biotic combos.  Better biotics for Soldiers, especially if the multiplayer rumors are true.

Lastly, have the NG+ with import option be better than having to restart a new game with import.  Also, having the import take note of DLC related content, both equipment and story DLC.

In no particular order:

- More RPG elements (includes more interaction with squaddies both in and out of the battlefield)
- Choices having a much more meaningful impact
- Same sex romance for both sheps (please, please, please, PLEASE –crosses fingers-)
- MORE CONRAD VERNER, LIARA AND REFUND GUY!
- Shepard: -while air quoting to council as they get attacked by Reapers- “Ah yes, "Reapers". The immortal race of sentient star ships allegedly waiting in dark space. We have dismissed that claim.”

1. No loading screens, or at least hide them like in ME1. I much prefer those to the admittedly cool static screens. Why? Immersion.

2. Visiting other species home worlds *coughPalavencough*, and perhaps more Tuchanka? :D

3. More dialogue with squadies when on missions, or the ability to talk to them whenever like back in ME1. The lack of them speaking in ME2 made me a little sad.

4. No Mission Summary screens at the end of each mission. Sure, they were nice looking, but see my point #1. It served as a reminder to me that I was playing a game, when I think of the universe of ME more as just that, a universe.

5. A balance between character and story-driven....story? ^^;; Though more focus on the main plot is nice, since the second game had quite a bit of character development. Not that I don't want more.

1. More RPG elements and possibilities to configure your Shepard (deeper level/skill system, armor configuration, more weapons like ME1, etc.)

2. More emotion from the voice actors, especially the male Shepard. The voice is way too monotone and emotionless, even when the dialog is obviously positive, negative or neutral. A speech must be delivered like Captain Kirrahe did it, not like it’s a chore.

3. Consequences for the choices you have made in ME1 and ME2, and the choices you will make in ME3. Also, possibilities of multiple endings to the game – depending of the choices and actions you have done.

4. Paragon/Renegade interrupts in cut scenes.

5. Tali, and her face revealed. :)

1. All the characters unite together as one force and kick-ass...

2. Customizable armor and weapons (in detail please eg. scope on assault rifle and stuff)

3. Romance story continues

4. Dialogue must be more cinematic (yes there was improvement in ME2 but it looks like all living things work on a processing system of motor functions. Talk talk *move right arm* talk talk *fold arms*) More natural flow is required please

5. Council members get there heads out of there asses and reunite the entire galaxy for one epic battle with reapers..... and please..... EPIC SOUNDTRACK IS REQUIRED for all the battles!!!!

Varied combat environments. IE no more long corridor with some boxes for every single mission.

Wrex, Garrus, Legion.

Dialog, more of it no one conversation every three missions.

Reapers taking a backseat to mercs/personal problems

class related dialog/interrupts.

Don't sap my level or my ****.

The lack of emotion makes him a lot more badass, especially as a renegade. I prefer it that way. I especilly liked the deadpan delivery of "You won't look so smug with a hole in your head." Perfect!

5. Less planet scanning.

4. More squadmate dialogue.

3. A war-type setting (we fight the Reapers on more fronts, not just one last mission at the end)

2. An appropriate ending, not just for Shepard, but for the other characters as well (what they will do in the future etc)

1. Epic Music B)

Right, but I meant more on the actual main plot, with more missions like Horizon, the "derelict collector ship", Virmire, Horizon, Ilos, etc. (i.e. the ones that actually deal with the story unfolding). I guess "more plot twists" is what I was looking for.

2: More Tali.

I'm not one of those anti-Tali people but I do think we kind of had enough. Having a large part in two games is much more than most characters got.

We need Tali and Garrus because theyre kinda like the "main squadmates" so more of them means more fun ...(and if you don't like Tali... don't use her, SIMPLE)

We dont need jacob... or the Priiiize

 1. The definitive conclusion to Shepard's story arc. An epic game with more focus towards the plot than anything else. This has to be the most emotionally engaging game I will ever play, bar none.

 2. A return to vehicle exploration that delivers. I do not mind if we explore less planets this time around unlike in the first Mass Effect, but I need that sense of exploration and discovery that I felt was missing in Mass Effect 2.

 3. A nice culmination of Shepard's romance sub-plot, with unique endings for each love interest if possible.

 4. Bring back some of the RPG mechanics that made the first Mass Effect work nicely. This includes a more simplified inventory, scarce, but useful loot, and customization options. Make it simple and effective.

 5. The team reunion. I want every character that has lived through the first two games to be unified and have an impact in the final battle. I want Wrex leading leading his army of Krogan into battle, Mordin and his salarian team on recon missions and science projects to aid in the battle, Zaeed organizing the Blue Suns and other merc groups together, etc. All the important choices should make an effect on the epic battle.
