Can anyone explain to me the logic of Bioware with this so called announcement of ME3?

First they go to a region locked (US only channel) and show ME3 trailer there. Then it eventually got leaked to other sites but not from Bioware directly. And still Bioware didn't announcement it on the forums or it official page.

Is it so that they pulled that joke with "Before I was community, now..." or what?
