Hey.
I'm having a CTD every time I open the same place.
I open the door, and rush to the next one. When the second opens, I crash.
If I stick around in the room before for too long, I crash to desktop too.

Have you tried starting from an earler savegame?

It sounds sort of like a scripting error. Like something that is supposed to happen or spawn and a file is corrupt or missing somehow.
Usually, reverting to an earlier save game fixes this. Do you have any saves in your 'my documents/bioware' folder?
Another avenue you might try is to run the mass effect configurator and select the repair option.
This should fix any corrupted files. Give it a whirl.

If the configuration utility doesnt fix it, give gibbed save editor a try. open up the save game, make a minor change (give yourself a few extra creds), save he file, and load it up.
Might work. If not, then you might have to start again. I normally do a few manual saves on top of the auto and quick saves just for this reason.
