Well I'm an expert herbalist and I can still only make lesser healing potions... where can I find a recipe for better ones?

Merchants sell them. I recall the "new" tavern owner in Redcliffe had some recipes in store after the battle (don't know if it was random though, there were like 4 or 5 recipes)
