I had an idea. what if instead of making you choose between 6 distinct classes (adept, engineer, sentinal, infultrator, vanguard, and soldier) why not give us the option to make our own custom class? like A class that has an assult rifle & a shotgun with incendiary and warp ammo with tech armor and singularity. Just let us choose our weapon options and abilities to make a truley unique character that fits the player to their prefered gameplay style. Hopefully many of you agree and we can get bioware to consider doing this!

i always wished that your class would have played a bigger role in story and conversations, however since this hasn't really happened so far, i think it would be good to have some degree of customization when it cam to class types especially as far as weapons are concerned.

i have wanted this forever but it will even further take away the rpg element of the game,so probably not, would be cool though

i just think we as the players should have as much customization as possible and be able the complete the game with whatever unique strats fit us best personally

That was a total bump :P But yeah, it's an interesting possibility to consider... Balancing that would be a tough journey, but it would certainly beat going through the same classes over and over. It would have to bring certain abilities(I'm looking at YOU, shockwave) unavailable until you get at least 2 talent points in a "lesser" ability, something wimpy like throw :P Whether BW would really try this or not is beyond me though. You could still keep the first 6 classes and simply have a "custom class" tab below the 6, I suppose.

Ive read about this very topic a while back - i would be all for it - but i would want it to be taken all the way. Be able to assemble your character with a selection from every class/ability/power and special ability in the game - however you like. Theres no doubt it would be awesome to do things like charge to adrenaline rush, deploy tech drone, go invisible, use stealth kill etc all in one hit. But the problem of course is that you would be ridiculously overpowered - but hot damn it would be so sweet!

To actually have this in the game world without breaking the rpg element, i think if this scenario took place in a virtual combat arena it would be fine. Kind of like letting you try things out and see what moves and powers etc suit you. Thats why i really hope they make a pinnacle station 2.0, and actully do something fun with it.

Waaaaaay too easy to god-mod if you can pick your own powers.

My thoughts on this topic here

http://social.biowar...84972/1#5493001

You still have your base classes, but with a pool of varying biotic/tech/physical talents to choose from depending on class.

I would like to see the armour skill return, and have it actually affect yuor powers to some degree.

ie: An adept can train in heavy armour, at the expense of not being able to take their biotic talents up to full rank. Similar to a mage wearing plate in D&D games.

@Admiral: Sure, it will be easy to god mod. But we can god mod now to give us whatever skills we want. Seeing as its a single player game, noone loses out by doing so.

True, but I hate being overpowered.  That was my problem with ME1: once you started getting Level X gear, things just got way too easy.  I like your ideas, though.

you forgot the sten picture!

and i didnt say it in my origonal post, but i meant that you still had your base classes and custom was just an option, like in oblivion. and you wouldnt be god. they could limit it to 2 "special" powers like tech armor or singularity and 2 or 3 weapon choices plus ones you unlock bly upgrading lower level powers as said above.

If it helps Kaiden mention the Biotic Chip in your head is more advance than his.

Yeah I thought the idea of having a custom class would be cool, but I think it would also loose it's worth since it'll make the game too easy. Kind of like playing in Castle Crashers with a Level 256 Knight.

i dont understand how having a custom class would make things easy! there would obviously be limits but how would picking what abilities you have and i don't see how customizing your char. would make you god
