I just hope that the choices that we made in previous games actually have an effect in ME3. I want to know my action have lasting effects on others, good or bad. Just having choices for the sake of appearing to matter is weak.
I'm worried for ME3...

I do not want shepard to die; I'm tired of the games where the main character has to die, If my character is to die I want shepard to die of my stupidity like I forgot to do something. I would rather have a happy ending where shepard and crew lives.
I also want all of ME 1 and ME 2 party members to become permenant party members.

I was mildly disappointed with the direction ME2 took, though not so much that I screamed bloody murder, which is the sentiment I see from a lot of people. It's like they're bitter over the loss of a loved one. This will end this trilogy, and for good or ill, I will finish it.

Mass Effect was always a series of suicide missions, they just made more of a big deal about it in ME2 because the writers opened possibilities for character deaths. None of the characters ever expect they'll make it to the end, Shepard even says so in some line in the Shadow Broker DLC. Unlike ME2 though, I think in ME3 they may all just come to terms with it and accept their inevitable fate.

I could see some sad deathbed episodes like Shep visiting Thane in his last moments but I would not want to see Shep die to be avenged by his offspring from his LI or such. I hope there will be more to ME universe even after the trilogy is over and done with.
Anyways, I am anxiously awaiting the release next year of ME3!!

Before I was thinking it would be most fitting if Shepard dies. Now, however, I think there should be the possibility of Shepard living, provided that you make the right decisions not just in ME3, but all ME games. It should be also be hard as hell to accomplish from a gameplay stand point.
