I think the shepard will die no matter what and i think that is a good thing for the franchise. Shepard dying would truly bring an end to his story and allow the universe to grow from there. If Shepard is left alive then bioware would always have to refer to him in new mass effect games and i think it would take away from the universe if you always had to take in account what shepard is doing.

Not in my opinion.
The hero diyng in the end has become a cliché. (i have stoped to count how many anime make the hero die at the end).
When it make sens, like in DA i don't mind though, but usualy, i find it to be a cheap cliché ending.
It's seems that some writer can't take the responsability for the hero to accomplish such great act... because it's so amazing (saving the world, defeating invulnerable froces etc) it's too much to let a character like this to live, and anyway, after you save the world, what else can you do?

....  aaah, just make him die at the appex of his accomplyshment....
it's cheaaaap ... cliiiiiichéééééééé.

And, for an adventure lasting 3 games, so many years, and make Shep die at the end no matter what, if feels like a waste of time.

Personnaly, i hope they will still let the choice.
Anyway, even after ME3, we will get reference of Shepard accomplishement, dead or alive, it doesn't change much.

One thing I like about Mass Effect is how it has you make tough choices that have repurcussions in the future. What choices should ME3 force you to make?

I think it's way too early to be speculating on plots and what will matter, etc. I'm just worried about the (rumored) multiplayer aspect. Do Not Want.
