.. I would really like to see a resolution to this, too, because I tell ya, I copied your four lines of code straight into a very simple OnOpen script on a crate, set object oPC = GetLastOpenedBy();

and bam, first try yep, 2nd try yep, etc - flash, rumble, swirls of light & magic ..

anyway. 2 cents
