Only half of the people who played the game bothered to even finish it once according to the data. That means that the number of people who have more than one Shepard is almost certainly below 50%.

Same here.  I  have 6 Shepards.  4 female (one I  played through twice so technically 5) and two male Shepards.

Heck, if the Femshep fan thread is any indication, even if there are fewer femshep players, they're certainly more dedicated.

Quite honestly, an explanation of the source would be very nice to have if you're going to argue using that statistical set.

When you play ME2 while connected to the EA servers, everything you do in the game is sent back to BioWare and they use this data for marketing purposes. If you had bothered to read the article you would have seen that they do collect data for multiple plays and this is the way the data comes out.

I see you taking a stab at Laura Croft here. She is making a huge comeback and I hate to say it. She is fighting in all sorts of cloths.. lol. I like her new look and yes she maybe white, but who cares. She's a woman. Besides Samus is blonde.

You're misinterpreting what I'm saying, people have a habit of doing that, and it's an irritating one at that.

I don't want everyong game to "star a chick" as you put it, that would get tiresome. I sometimes like playing as the male character, but it gets boring after a while. Perhaps its my fault that the games I play, the heads of the people who made them would probably implode if they thought of making a female main character.

Overlord (come on, that would've been awesome playing a female overlord...)

The RPGs let you play as a female, that's cool, that's great. But there's no real indication that's she's part of the game/story - aside from players noticing they have the option.

It's not going to kill Bioware's reputation to make one single trailer and then never go near FemShep ever again.

I don't see Chud's head exploding, though that would be a nice image in any case.

But how many RPG players are hooked up to the internet all the time.  Just playing devil's advocate here.  I like to play Halo multiplayer and watch Netflix so mine is, but for what purpose would many RPG players have their XBOX plugged in all the time.

Best we can hope for now would be if Bioware planned to make a new ME Triology, in where the default customizable character is a woman and be optional as a man.

I think if they do feature FemShep somewhere, it will probably be Jane, the default version.

Ofcource it'll be Jane. But to me the male shep's first name is Robert and the femshep's name is Taylor.

Where did I take a stab at her? Where exactly did I say "Lara is just a cheap sell-out for male gamers"? I did not take a stab at her, but yes, she is making a come back, and a refreshing one at that. I will give you that.

I obviously don't have the number of how many people play ME2 offline, but BioWare does. You take the total number of sales and subtract from it the number of people who are logging into the EA servers. Look, you can make excuses all you want, but the data is what it is. Fishing for excuses to dismiss this data isn't going to make BioWare stop using it to plan their marketing and development strategies.
