-.- why? why is it so wrong for shepard to be a guy? besides cannon has already established his manliness from what i understand.

You understand wrong.
There is no 'canon Shepard' nor is there a canon gender for Shepard (there'd be a hell of a lot more ****ing on these forums if there was)

Anyways, seriously, I hate Sheploo as much as the next guy but is it really necessary to see a trailer of a femshep that is not even your own.
You know shes in the game.
You know what she sounds like.
There really is no real reson for her to have her own trailer aside from 'just because'.

Wouldn't people rather Bioware spend their resources on better animations for FemShep? I'd take that over an epic trailer any day. FemShep with her legs wide open in a dress while talking to Garrus....do not want. Animation glitches that prevent Liara from crying openly in front of FemShep...do not want. That's where the resources need to go.

I almost want to keep the sexy gorilla manwalk in a dress, just for the sentimental value.

Almost.

Not enough to deny that this is true, though.

And also hating it when people feel that they are the official "thread closer" of a valid topic.

Can we please get a lockdown on this thread? That'd be great, thanks.

Why?

"Oh no! Someone's trying to ruin my perfect game with their petty insulting problems that don't relate to me! Purge the infidels!"

Something like that?

No.

"Oh no, we can't go three posts in this thread without someone flinging insults."

Something like that.

As your post so neatly fell into that pattern, thank you for illustrating my point.

I think she thought you wanted the lockdown because it had to do with Femshep.

That would be incorrect, since I play femShep exclusively.

They could make a community contest thing out of it, let people submit their facecodes and pics, and a few winners will get their Shepards in a tribute/montage trailer of sorts. It would be pretty neat I think. A nice way to celebrate the final installment. Wouldn't have to be solely femshep either.

Do a little ingame

"We are shepard" trailer have them all stnading in a crowd or some thing?

That could work nicely.

A promotional campaign illustrating that the player shapes his Shepard, his experience and the end-game could be pretty effective I think. But it would be risky. Thing is, I think marketing tends to underestimate peoples intelligence. They think they'll confuse new players by using different Shepards in the marketing. but I think, if done properly, such an ad would work wonders in attracting new players. And they could still stick with Sheploo for the main campaign.

At the very least a community event is doable.

But you stated earlier that you are pissed that they don't have enough black protogonists.  If it pisses you so much, then why is Sheploo excused and everyone should accept that he is marketable?

Whats the next idiotic demand going to be?. Asian Shepard? Black Shepard? Eskimo Shepard? Tranny Shepard?
How about you let them focus on getting the game right, instead of demanding a trailer for every possible gender/race type available?

this.
as a fem player, i myself dont need a fem shepard trailer.

(1)its just a trailer.it only shows people that you can play as fem shepard in the game.only by playing the game as a fem shepard will we know if bioware really cares about fem shepard and fem players.actually, imo, bioware is one of the very few game studios that treat male and female players equally nowadays.
(2) why not leave some imagination to the image of fem shepard ? i belive many people have already created their own shepard.
i'm not a native english speaker.sorry for my poor english.^_^

ACtually that is a very good idea. You should take that idea and see if you could contact one of the creators of the game. Say  Christina Norman, because it supports both Male and female and doesn't cause a sexist hating war. Hmm. I might just send her that idea for you. I'll put your name at the quote.  I'll read design it as a professional thing for you, but it would definitely sound really cool. Also they may want to even give you a custom T-shirt made with your shepard's face on it as a reward with the trailer. Image IPB

If you want to suggest it, go right ahead, I wouldn't know who to suggest it to anyway :P

It won't happen because of monetary reasons. They will stay with the image (the "iconic" shepard) that they have already chosen. Its too late to change their branding now. Also, they are using the male target audience, like most companies do. A protest/support movement now will be a wasted effort as the teaser trailer has already been released and that are going to have to "stick to their guns" to avoid an redirection to keep the marketing focus forward. I'm not defending them per say but this is how marketing works unfortunatly. Pushing femshep in previews for DLC and developing content for ME3 is possible though.

However, I am all for a fan made femshep ME3 trailer if anyone thinks they can pull it off. Personally, if I had the CG skills I'd see about modding that quick shadowy shot of Shepard to make him look like a female but I don't have near the skills to make it look at all believable. The hardest part would be the body as even if that face and head was redone, Shepard would still little pretty buff.

I wonder why it costs so much to do CG. People have made some pretty top-notch stuff with free programs like Blender. So why does it cost millions to make a short video?

But yeah, I know we're never gonna see an official Femshep trailer.

Marketing sucks. T_T

Art direction, Particle effects, rendering, lighting, quality 3d models and motion-capture animation techology. Very meticulous and time-consuming work, not just on the staff, but on the machines as well. [Render farms FTW]

Oh and not to mention there's a whole studio of mouths to feed.

Of course it's expensive. Blur does good work, and Bioware/EA paid for that quality.

I'm thinking a fan made trailer for now is ok, but just to give Bioware a good sense of how they could do it. I notice at the VGA awards. The trailer they used has some music and a couple of scenes from a trailer a fan had made which I think is pretty nutz.

This.  I'd prefer them spending time/money on making FemShep's gaming experience better vs. some 2 minute trailer I'll watch once or twice.

And, @ the Vanilla Ice photoshop.
