Heard a few people say that theres no level cap (Posted Image). But that theres not enough creatures to go higher then 18-22 .. so does stuff not respawn at all? So once you go through something you cant go back and re-explore at a later date?Posted Image

Right..it's like Kotor and those games..when you clear it, it's cleared.

There are random battles on the map though that I think you can continue to use to level..but I imagine when you get a certain level the XP gain will become too minute to help.

I don't think there are any actual respawn areas..it just doesn't make sense for enemies to respawn..it's not an MMO.

You should be able to reexplore probably MOST of the areas your visited..but monsters won't respawn...as far as I know anyways.

There are some monsters that respawn, and you can get attacked whilst travelling.

They want to stay away from the "Grinding" aspect of a lot of RPG's. That's how Bioware games have always been. There may be some respawning animals or things of that nature but they won't be good for grinding levels. This keeps the game balanced instead of you becoming a superhuman powerhouse who can kill things in one hit..it's part of what keeps the game challenging.

I'm only guessing and going off past posts about no respawn..there may be some in some areas for some things..but I don't think so.

Some things respawn, think BG2 though, trying to level up off of random encounters at end game would have taken weeks if not months of grinding, the vast majority of exp in the game is rewarded by quests. So yes, you can theoreticaly,

There is respawning and random monster encounters while traveling. It's limited, however. You won't be able to grind to level 50.

It's funny that you guys bring this up, because in one of the videos talking to a developer they refer to DA:O as a Massively-Singleplayer-Online-Role-Playing-Game and they go on to say that you won't have to worry about grinding for an item only to have it finally pop up and have somebody else roll on it and take it from you. So, taking their example as a source I'd assume that there are respawning enemies and there is grinding. Then again I could be completely wrong, we'll just have to see when it comes out.

ok that's fine as long as the game is balanced and it's not. so after 10 hours of gameplay, now my adventure is at a dead end because my party is too weak to face just about any enemies I encounted in the last 1 hour.  crappy game design

I've gone back to most areas twice in order to make sure I didn't leave behind any codexes or something. In my experience, the only respawning takes place in the Bracilian Forest (and it only happens once). There also seem to be a set number of "random" encounters, as by endgame all I kept getting was Old Teagrim the merchant - most encounters are actually quest related in some way anyway, only a few are "kill random bandits/wolves/darkspawn." The Deep Roads doesn't seem to have any random encounters, which is odd, considering Denerim has them.

That said, you should be able to reach Level 23 (maybe even 24) through normal gameplay with all DLC.

You must be completely wrong considering this isn't an online game!
