Note: This thread contains spoilers about the Mass Effect 3 world premiere trailer and the description of the game located on the back of the Mass Effect 3 box, which was posted on the EA website and then taken back down.

Now, we've all seen the size of the Reapers, and since this is the non spoilers forum I won't say where or how, but in the teaser trailer for Mass Effect 3 I got the distinct impression that the Reapers were smaller.

Now consider the first contact with a Reaper (please post no details), but it looked MASSIVE in comparison to anything else around.

Now, if we also consider the other contacts with the Reapers, we begin to realize just how big they actually are.

In the teaser trailer, they don't look AS large to me, they're still towering above everything else, but not quite so big.

Do you think that the Reapers have actually been sized down, or do you think that perhaps it was the location (Central London) that they were residing in that has caused them to appear smaller to me, in comparison to their surroundings?

Big Ben is huge compared to a person, a Reaper was huge compared to Big Ben. I'd put a reaper in at around 500 meters long(approx 150 stories) that would fit in with the approx size of Sovereign if you look at the size of Citadel tower from the Presidium as compared to Sovereign on the top of the tower.

The reapers were definitely scaled down, which is disappointing as hell. Sovereign was said to dwarf even the Destiny Ascension, and that was the biggest ship of the known races. I think Bioware definitely made them smaller so they'd fit in the frame. I hope they aren't scaled down in the actual game.

If you look sovereign isnt that huge compared to the dreadnoughts but he seems bigger then the reapers from the teaser trailer.

Well, we know from the codex in ME that Sovereign was about 2km long atleast, though size of reapers probably vary somewhat.

I really hope the Old Machines were just "dumbed down" for the trailer... I want my 2+km long superbeasts :3

Basically Nazara is the same to Citadel Dreadnaughts as "Old Machines" in ME3 trailer are to puny roflcopters :sigh:

The London Eye(that ferris wheel in the picture) is 135 meters, and a it is barely taller then the smallest section of the Reaper's leg. That section is MAYBE 1/10th of the entire Reaper leaving it at around 1350 meters tall. That is huge!

Actually if you look at it, it's about half of that Old Machine's "legs" as it's "squatting" on it...

They look about as big when you see Sovereign on Eden Prime.

it's distraction when watch this teaser. we are not sure how much big reaper is from this video clip. but there is official website to explain. 2km long. Geth's HQ in ME 2 is about 2km as well. that's just huge for human.

Thank you for refreshing me, as I read that article about 1 minute before I posted this thread. If it was considered a spoiler I wouldn't of posted here, even with the title and warnings of Mass Effect 3 spoilers.

Note that I asked everyone not to let out Mass Effect 1 and 2 Spoilers.

I merely posted the warnings because some people are trying to avoid Mass Effect 3 spoilers, and I am trying to help them.

They look smaller and more HG Wells Martian to me, my theory, they came from a bigger Reaper carrier, that is Nazara's and the derelict  Reper's size.

This. Perhaps the Reapers we see in the trailer are the Reaper-equivelent of dropships, carrying thousands of husks to overwhelm a city.

EDIT: Or maybe the people who did the trailer didn't do their research. This would seem far more likely.
