Yes I know. But I recently did a CE runthrough and discovered I actually like Wynne. She express regret about what Vaughn did to you and Shianni (which no one else seems to even care about other than the CE origin people <_<).

So this is a support group for her.

And if there's another one can someone link me to it? I tried to search but I didn't find one oddly enough. I know there's one *somewhere* just not sure where exactly.

Anyways my favorite Wynne moment is when she apologizes about taking the PC's romance lightly. That moment always cheers me up.

My favorite quote easily is this: "No, a quiet death is not for you. Your passing will be glorious, you will blaze like a falling star lighting up the night sky."

When she and the PC are talking about how the PC fears dying quietly.

Edit: Urgh. Honestly if you guys want to debate Wynne's hypocrisy and whatnot there's a topic already for that. This was supposed to be a support thread where people who actually like the character can discuss in a peaceful, civil enviornment her actions and whatnot.

So honestly can you all take the debates elsewhere? It would be appreciated.

I like her too. She offers wisdom that she has earned, although she can dispense it in an arrogant manner. She also asks the PC to question themselves frequently so I see her as an ear to bend about the dilemmas that Ferelden offers. I don't see her being too judgemental either, whenever she disagrees with you she states why clearly and even though I may not agree with her cautions I do appreciate receiving them.

Yes. I don't mind disagreement so much as long as the person explains why instead of just "harrumphing" and turning away.

And she has her flaws but despite this she tries to be a better person and tries in her own way to help the PC the best she can.

Let me get this out of the way: I find incredibly attractive. I know I know its due to the use of the female models for every human woman, but she is just - if it wasn't for Return to Ostagar, it wouldn't be confirmed to me that she is quite the woman I imagined her to be.

...

*ahem*

That aside, I love the way she watches out for Alistair. His father and father figures are either dead or comatose, and he becomes rather fond of her - almost seeing her like a mother. Even Morrigan can see this, happening, and it warmed my heart knowing at least one other companion cared for my good buddy.

She is sagely, wily, and a bit cougary; and despite the lectures and bouts of sponstaneous wisdom, she is - ironically - full of life.

The character I am most indifferent to and my opinion of her is best described as this:

If she was aimed to be a sage mentor type figure, then they failed badly.

I've said this before about her somewhere; what she offers is an opportunity to pause and consider, for that she remains a benefit to me.

Ah true. To each their own. I find her to at least be sympathetic to the main character's plight even with her flaws.

She seems more invested in the whole 'blight' issue in a more sincere way than other NPCs.

Also she's a mage which kind of makes her awesome by default. She is a great healer though when already playing a healer mage them forcing her into your party just leads to redundancy.

Though really even if you hate her and think her advicesucks she has some great moments. The shining star one for example, and she's sort of right about the whole endangering the world because of your love (if you keep Alistair alive and do Morri's ritual) you have no wayof knowing what is going to result from that.

I'm not sure if the double-negative was intentional... Do you mean they did a good job, or they failed spectacularly?

Yeah that is a real difficulty for those who opt to be a mage.  Considering that any Mage can pick up Healing and other buff spells she does tend to be redundant.  But for those other party make-ups she is of great value.  I'm currently running a party without her and Shale and things are very different.  I'm having Morrigan stick to debuffs and specifically not using her as a healer.  It makes me miss my Nan lol, which is who Wynne reminds me of.

Yup. She's pretty good for my rogue pcs. I tend to like the warrior/warrior/warrior/warrior makeup for the challenge though.

Yeah I kind of miss her lecturing at times.

Urgh Morrigan. Can't use her she makes me want to facepalm too often.

I think that he's saying that Wynne looks good in that outfit.

And her "humorous" banter with Alistair at Ostagar downright creeps me out.

Whatever happened to the old Abominable Wynne thread? I used to love reading that.

Wynne certainly has her moments, yes. For the most part, I don't forcibly dislike her as a character and she does have amusing banter with more or less everyone, but her judgmental preaching every time someone so much as mentioned the words 'blood magic' got a little tiring.

Oh, how she made me miss Kreia from KotOR2.

Nice one Wulfram. Not the image that Wynne would usually conjure.

I wrote a Wynne fic, The Taste of Strawberries, I got the impression she's had a rather dissolute youth... Been there done that, got the tee, forgot about it 'cause it wasn't important after all...
