I would have more sympathy for her if she wasn't flirting with my fiance right in front of my face.
Waaaaaaaaait a minute, if you're talking about Return to Ostagar, Alistair made the first flirtatious comment to Wynne.

Darn it, how did this thread turn to yet more Wynne hate overnight? Is there no respite?

She's a competent healer and a good listener. She has a healthy view on magic and she tried to make the best of what has happened to her.IanPolaris wrote...
I don't consider being blatently hypocritical as setting a good example. Do you?

Some of her dialogues can be frustrating, as you can never really challenge her views and her crisis moments are not exactly well developed.
She's sometimes hypocritical, but many people are and I can deal with that.

Noo, he called her an oldster, and she said, I'll teach you a thing or two, whipper snapper.

Yeah, at the start. Then he was all like "If I may say so, my lady, you are looking younger by the day" in a husky voice.
And I was like "Go for it Alistair! Live the dream!" 'Cuz he wasn't getting laid in my game otherwise.

He just felt sorry for the old biddy.
I would like to know what the writers where smoking when they came up with that one.
Too bad. It was nice to have one place to talk about the character that wasn't full of bile. I would have thought that all the hate in the other threads was enough, and that people who like the character might have been allowed one place to discuss her. Ah, well.Giggles_Manically wrote...

Does she? I haven't gotten that far in my CE playthrough, but it doesn't surprise me that she would react that way. I look forward to having that conversation.Face of Evil wrote...

The issue is that no one has posted anything that can facilitate discussion aside from the usual "Wynne sux for X reasons." We need to offer a topic that can actually spark, y'know, a conversation.
So here's my attempt: what's your favourite moment involving Wynne? Was it funny, heartwarming or just awesome?
As the OP mentioned, Wynne really grew on my CE character when I told her about my past and she actually agreed with me when I said that Vaughan deserved what he got.
I was also a bit teary hearing about her son.

I generally play a Cousland, a character who recently lost her mother--a woman also prone to giving out no-nonsense advice--and Wynne came to feel like a surrogate mother. It felt really good when she changed the mind about the relationship with Alistair. Although in retrospect, she was right. The selfishness that she talked about led directly to the dark ritual.
Heh, that's one of my favorites, too. I laughed out loud.bleetman wrote...
Favourite Wynne moment? Hmm. Probably when finding Bevin, in Redcliffe.
"Go away! This isn't your home!"
"Young man, come out this instant"
"...Y-yes ma'am"

The other fan threads have their share of bile - why should Wynne's be special?Does it have something to do with "the Fade shining out her bum"?
I think it's a question of priorities. Besides, as Irving points out, the Grey Wardens are beyond their jurisdiction. Though Rylock disapproves -100.klarabella wrote...

Irving and Greagoir are worried about abominations, not so much blood mages. Greagoir says "if even one abomination got out..." It's Cullen who is paranoid about blood mages.

I have been in love with Wynne ever since RTO... I don't really understand the hate some people have towards her.
Anyway that was my two cents *goes back to lurking*
