Loved Mass Effect 2.
I'm not sure what game in Bioware's library that haters are referring to that makes this game a letdown... but I haven't played or enjoyed a better series from them.
Did you like Mass Effect 2?

After being drawn in from the Launch Trailer of Mass Effect 2, playing it and then getting Mass Effect 1.. I think ME2 is one of the best games out there for the 360. I love the plot of the Universe and I love the diversity of the choices. Not entirely fanboy, but I like it better than the first.

As a standalone game in the ME universe ME2 is a really good game (it's not a Top 10, but I still enjoy playing it).
As a sequel it fails on so many levels its not funny. I will not be listing them, others have done so and to put them out would be repetitive and not worth the time.

I loved it. I can see why some people might not like it as much as ME1, but a percentage of the minority are just elitists.

I like all of Bioware's games. I think Mass Effect 2 is in the top 10 PC games of all time.

/agreed. I have been a fan of BioWare for years (KOTOR) but ME:2 takes the cake for me.

There were a few minor things in the game I didn't like, but even with my petty complaints I still loved it. ME is my favorite video game series of all time.

Yeah, why isn't this just a poll? I liked it. It was a good game and fun to play. Over and over.

If the plot of ME2 was even midly coherent, it would be way above ME1. Not that ME1 doesn't have a pretty lackluster plot and a few tremendous plotholes to go along with it. It's just that ME2 has a plot that becomes increasingly incoherent as times goes on. The plot just fails at getting anywhere, and the state of the game at the end is identical to its state at the begining.
The characters and gameplay are both superior in ME2, though. We also have a better explanation for why you have a crew to begin with, whereas in ME1 it really made very little sense for Wrex, Garrus and Tali to tag along. The environments are better crafted as well.

I think it is one of the best games i have ever played. The missions were just the right length, better character development, and a bunch of other stuff. There were some downfalls but they didn't bother me that much.

I personally loved ME2. It is probably in my top 3 games(RDR, CoD:MW2, and ME2, not necessarily in that order).
HOWEVER, the story in ME was MUCH better than the story in ME2. ME2 was your typical dark middle entry of a trilogy with just enough filler to get you through to the big guns of ME3. Don't get me wrong, taking on the Collectors was great. But ME2's big story punch was finding out that the Collectors were repurposed Protheans. And that they were building a Reaper, which I subsequently destory. Big freakin whoop. Ilos and Virmire both were MUCH bigger turning points in ME than any part of ME2.

Loved it, one of the best games I have ever played, despite the fact that many features were removed. If they kept/improved them, it would easily be the best game ever for me.

I enjoyed ME2, found it very fun to play especially with the combat upgrades and thought it was a good sequel. But i also feel too many good features from ME1 were abandoned...i hope to see them return in ME3.

I felt caged and restricted in this game that is called an rpg...
Compared with Dragon Age,its also a horrible "character driven" game.

One of my favorite games of all time.
If I had to do a top 5 favorite games, in no particular order, I'd say:
Mass Effect 2
Capcom vs. SNK 2
Final Fantasy Tactics
Fallout: New Vegas
Baldur's Gate 2

I liked the characterization for the squadmates, loyalty missions and the combat. But I didn't like the incoherent main plot, squadmates being expendable in SM and Harbinger.
As far as I'm concerned, ME2 is a good standalone game but it fails as a sequel.

I love ME2, it opened my eyes to how deep games can be.
Im just depressed i dont own my decent gaming PC anymore, im getting fed up of the sound bugs on xbox /cry. And miss easy modding, would love to be able to customise eyes and stuff like the pc players.

The more we love it, the more we **** about it. Because we want ME3 to be even better... and it might not be if we're not ****ing as much as possible about ME2.
That's why we're all here baby!

I sure did, but after almost a year since my first playthrough and a few months since the last one...
...well, it just isn't in the same league as the first one. I have fond memories from both, but Mass Effect (1) was simply a breathtaking experience, never-mind bugs or gameplay quirks. Mass Effect 2 has its moments of awesome, but as a whole it's more like "yet another summer sci-fi" blockbuster (albeit excellent one) that "all-time classic".

If only there were some way we could combine the ergonomics / joysticks / pressure sensitiveness of a controller with the massive amount of buttons of a keyboard!

I like ME2 overall... the gameplay is pretty smooth, but the story is only so so and, at least for me, it feels like it doesn't continue ME1's story enough.
Also, some things feel pretty cheesy. The constant Harbinger taunts and a number of cutscenes f.e. are just distractingly annoying.
I also miss squadmate armor and ME1's stats.
