Very good trailer, man. Although in the ending, where it is showed the Mass Effect 3 logo, Sovereign's speech felt a little "off", if you understand me.
thx. though i dont understand what do u mean by "off"
if u mean there was too big of a gap in his speech, it wasnt intended. i like it this way, as there is some non-Sovereign part of the video, even if i intended to include voiceover there too (the music is natively too loud there sadly), as the end was designed this way (this last line of is rly freakish)
anyway, if its not the issue u talked about, or couldnt interpret my somewhat chaotic thinking, than pls explain what u meant

Liked your trailer
That said there's always a room for a bit of improvement. Here's my impression.
The beginning of the video reminds the audience of Sovereign's point of view on current sentients: they are limited and inconsequential. The video clips during this part include the Battle of the Citadel, the SR1 damaged, and many of the characters from ME1 and 2. Sovereign raps up this point just after the first sixty seconds, and he transitions to talking about the Reapers' plan. Sovereign tells the audience what will happen to humanity as the clips cut to the Reapers invading Earth (London, right?). Thus far this video has created a fairly smooth emotional arc. You start with the Battle of the Citadel, but you don't show the actual desctruction of Sovereign, and you show the SR1 damaged. You then show clips of the characters from ME1 and 2 and cut back to more fighting in London between the Reapers and Humans. However, in my humble opinion, the piece from 1:26 to 1:36 doesn't seem necessary.
Sovereign says nothing, and what we see is a collector moving about his consoles with some explosions in the background. It's not essential because up until now you've been building up this feeling that the Reapers are one of the hardest enemies we've ever faced and there's a very real chance they could wipe us out. Referencing the defeat of the Reapers would imply that there is hope for us, but after 1:36 you cut to a scene from ME2 showing a small slice of the massive Reaper fleet, then rap the video up with Shepard staring down onto Earth and the Reaper invasion. I'm not sure what the end of your trailer is trying to tell the audience. It seems that your video builds a crescendo and then maintains it to the end, only dropping a small bit once the music finishes. Meanwhile, the message you're sending the audience is mixed. There's this theme that humans will need to gear up for what will likely be the hardest thing we've done as a species, but the clip from 1:26 to 1:36 doesn't really add much to that message. Showing the audience the victory over the collectors at 1:26 is a reversal of your message, but it seems to come in at the wrong time. It might be more beneficial to either maintain the same implied message or reverse at the very end. If you are opposed to the idea of changing you message at the end of the
trailer, and want to maintain the sense of foreboding, then you should
think about editing out the collector scene. As an example I'll dig up another trailer posted to these forums.
www.youtube.com/watch
The artist does a good job of synching his music, video clips, and naration. I have a feeling you added the collector clip as a filler so you could get the music to sync up with the other clips at the end. If that is so then perhaps you should swap out the clip from 1:26 to 1:36 and add in something else or take up space in other parts of the trailer.
-Side Note-
When you show the collectors (1:26-1:36) this comes just after Sovereign has told the audience there is no hope, and the clip of the Reaper fleet after 1:36 and then finally Shepard staring down onto the battle for Earth, would imply that Sovereign seems to be right. What would be interesting is if you created a dialogue between Shepard and Sovereign. I wouldn't suggest you do something simple, such as switching off between dialogue lines from Sovereign, then from Shepard, Soveriegn then Shepard, etc, etc. You could have Shepard's voice come into the video only towards the end, while you edit in some clips of the humans gaining victories over the Reapers. For example: you showed the Battle for the Citadel in the beginning, but at the end of the trailer, while Shepard is speaking, you could edit in Sovereign's desctruction. You could even create two separate, short, and opposing clips. One narated and described by Shepard and one from Sovereign, but both describing their analysis of how the struggle against eachother is progressing.
Thx again for posting your trailer
I enjoyed watching it!

I liked it but I was wondering if you wanted to choose the most emotional events associated with the characters shown not just shots of them in Random places. Like Ashley's last stand, Wrex's reveal as clan chief, Jacobs talk with his father, Miranda's talk with her long lost sister, etc. Just offering my two cents

jmacho1: wow. ty.
that was quite an analysis. as i understand, your biggest problem is the scene with the collector. sadly i have to agree
but the problem is more technical, de emotional, or rational. i mean the reason why Sovereign doesnt speak there, because i couldnt put his voice there, because the music interfered with it in a really annoying way. originally i used there the scene, with the omega-relay, it was a little bit happier, and more epic. but the reason i chose the collector scene, because of the reaper fleet. as Harbinger releases control, you can see him, and than the pic changes to them (besides, this wasnt in this order originally, so i thought this would be something of a new perspective - even if its just timefilling :S)
oh and i am thinking of an other video, where there would be something of a discussion (i only have the basic idea)
anyway, thanks for this thorough analysis, it was interesting to read it. i make these just out of fun, and most of the things just come in the minute i make it (probably this trailer stands out from the others, because i was thinking of it for half a year). this isnt the good aproach, but i admit that these are for my entertainment mainly (the creating phase), and if the endproduct is liked, than i am more than happy. i guess i didnt answer for everything (or anything at all), but ill come back a bit later, and read this through to fill any gap that i left empty
thx again
4yan3ric: when i was making this i didnt have the game ony my pc, and obtaining quality, and useable material from mainly youtube, is almost impossible :S i tried some of the scenes you mentioned though, but the time i had at my disposal for an individual was either too shor, or too long for such scenes. thx for watching

Amazing. The way you timed the clips with the music was incredible. I shivered when the music started playing. Very, very good, this is definitely one of the best ME fan-made videos I've ever seen, and the only fan-made ME3 trailer that actually feels like an ME3 trailer and not an ME2 trailer.

Great video.
I had a little laugh when Sovereign said "You are nothing" and it showed Jacob though.

Awesome work OP! As others have said your use of the Reapers over London at that point was brilliant and I loved Sovereigns final words at the end.

Pretty good. Someone should make a spoof of it with Harbinger's voice and the benny hill theme. Then a crowd of laughter at the end.
Soverign makes everything awesome!

Superb, you are very tallented.
One thing though. Isn't the title of the video a little bit misleading? I know there are no rules for naming youtube videos but some hint in the headline, that it is actually a fan made trailer would have been a noble and useful act.

thank you. the way I see it, the original video was "Earth", or "Reveal", so with naming mine "Annonuncement" was quite a uniqe choice (and not that easy to spell, next to the other choices). and if one wants to see an official video, then the one checks the official channels, or the bigger gamingportals' channels. but yeah, you are right, it is somewhat misleading
