I believe the Reapers attack on Earth in the trailer will only happen if Shepard fails to rally the necessary allies to combat the Reapers. I seriosuly doubt that Shepard would look down on Earth from space and leave and come back when he has the allies to combat the Reapers. I don't think this is Battlestar Galatica where Adama listens to his son and abandons the colonists when the cylons found their sanctuary. What do you guys think?

I think this will happen very early ingame, like normandy destruction, or that it is an optional ending, like shep dieing.

Ya I agree with you in an optional ending because I wouldn't want to feast my eyes for the first time on a ravaged futuristic Earth getting destroyed by the Reapers. I want to see a futuristic Earth with flying cars and jetpacks flooding the sky.
