I always went with Liara right from my first playthough. Always liked her.

When ME2 came around at first it was a bit hard to accept the (apparent) coldness, but I stuck with it, and LotSB made that totally worth it. I'm glad I stayed true to her

My main Shepard romanced Miranda, and only her. To me, they are made for each other and they have a lot in common.

I have a renegade shep called Neo, hes a cool looking bald black guy, he went for jack, as they both are biotics and kinda crazy.



My renegade soldier shep is a sole survivor, i went for miranda with him



I got a ME1 import sentinal shep whos with Liara, but also going to be with Tali, pure i dont care kinda character

On my main Shepard, I somehow got roped into a relationship with Ashley in the first game. I always chose the 'paragon' options when talking to her on the Normandy, and it forced me into romancing her. Breaking up with her meant being a total jerk, and I didn't want to do that to her, but I did tell her to leave me alone when she came to my quarters for the love scene before Ilos - thus the scene never happened. After seeing her on Horizon, I pretty much told her that I'm fine with breaking things off with her - since I didn't want her in the first place - so I went with who I *really* wanted, which was Miranda. I don't think of it as cheating, because I was forced into romancing Ashley, and I didn't feel like playing the game *another* time through before Mass Effect 2 came out just to fix one stupid little problem. So this wasn't something that something necessarily reflects the personality of me or my Shepard, it's just something that I'm willing to let slide for the moment until I feel like playing this character over again to correct that mistake. I am curious as to see the consequences of this though in the final chapter with this Shepard.



My pro-humanity Shepard romanced Ashley though (and stayed loyal) because we both have a disgust for aliens, and sort of a pro-human agenda - even though my Shepard is a bit more extreme than Ash is. I suppose Miranda would be just as good for this Shepard, but she never really displayed very much hatred for aliens (other than her working for Cerberus of course) like Ashley did. Plus I wanted to see what it would like to stay loyal to a love interest, since I can't do that with my main Shepard.

M/Shep 2 Liara - Jack (This actually felt a bit forced. He was supposed to have a thing about powerful biotics but as a player Jack does nothing for me.)

F/Shep 2 Ash - Tali (h4X0r) (Changed after Ash called her a traitor on Horizon. Not getting back together after that.)

F/Shep 3 None - None (waiting for MA3)

Went for Liara in ME-1 (tested the Ashley-romance, guffawed and quickly reloaded ) , cheated on her with only one Shep pre- LotSB (went for Garrus). All others stayed faithful with regard to the "final" save.

I really like slightly brainy Liara. 'nuff said

Ditto.  For me Ash just felt right.  She and my Shepard are both soldiers, both don't take any crap from anyone including each other.  They had a lot in common.  I felt like she's the only one that really challenged my Shepard and made him think.  And they're both mature, non-flowery, non-gushy people who show their affection more in action than words.  Just felt like they fit.

I get the feeling that most people jumped on tali just for the chance to see her (do I really have to say it?).

Most of these gamers felt nothing more then curiosity, not really a connection with her character. I personally chose Miri in ME2 because she really shares a lot in common with my character. they both believe in human progress and are workaholics, very dedicated, serious (although my Shepard has been trying to outjoke Joker since ME1).

Other people went with Thane (really? WTH!?) and jacob (the price.... is not worth it). For me people that stayed with Liara deserve a prize. They really stuck it out with all the alien ass and genetically enhanced boobs thrown at them throught a 30 hour game.

Im curious at women (and some men) who chose Garrus as they're LI. *I expect a response from these*

So why did you choose you're LI, why did you chose no one, and why?

I chose Tali first play through actually because I did feel a connection to her, and was curious too. But you mentor the hell out of that kid through ME although technically she was an adult she felt more like an adolescent, and probably was, her pilgrimage was like a coming of age thing.

Anyway, she comes back in ME and feels alot more grown up and you've been fighting by her side since ME and feel protective of her etc etc so I liked her, I was like "Let's hook this up!" Plus for an alien she's got an awesome booty! She's too nice not to like really.

I had trouble connecting with Miranda because she comes off as such a ****. Generally a good guy but just really douchey in general to people other than Shepard, and my Shepard has always been about uplifting his personel and re-enforcing morale, so Tali seemed way better for him than Miranda. All though when Miranda does finally open up she's cool too.

Haven't tried Samara, no desire to. She takes herself too seriously damnit! I understand she's supposed to be all bad ass and what not but does she really have to be biotically glowing and meditating and staring into space ALL THE DAMN TIME?

Only way I would ever hook up with Jack is if I was being an evil Shepard. She's the most irratating with her "I'm a bad ass ****!" / "Boo hoo, I'm a victim!" flip floping, Shut the F@#@ up already lady! And get over yourself for god's sake!

Anyway, if I was a chick I would totally hook up with Garrus. He's bad assed, has been there from the start with Shepard and generally is a really good guy...

I went for Garrus. When I started Mass Effect for the first time and saw him, it was love on the first sight. Something about Turians and their design is so attractive xD eh and voice and my favourite color is blue xD. He has great personality, he is very humorous, cute, stubborn, hotheaded, idealistic, faithfull bla bla. I love these things about him the most and just like that is my Shepard aswell. He was for a long time with my Shepard. The best friends can always make great lovers I think but always risky. Abit bothered me the approach of romance in Me2. Didn't want that it starts in such way like: Let's reveal the stress in bed. My Shepard is not that type of girl who would approach to person like that. I wish that we maybe got renegade and paragon route because it was kinda out of character for my Shep but I rly wanted to romance Garrus! So I bited it and what to say? It was worthed scene was just very beatifull and very meaningfull. I really hope that romance gets developed more in Me3.

The LI I chose was perfect for my main FemShep....and every Shep i've made since. I always choose Liara.



My Shep loves Garrus too but never in a LI way. They're more like best friends. She'll always care for him, but romantically her heart will always belong to Liara.

I scrogged Liara in Mass Effect 1 but I think I'm going to stick with scrogging Jack for my canon Shepard's Mass Effect 2 run since that seems to fit best with the Paragon path.

Oddly enough, I tweak my Shepards when I create them to fit into the Liara romance. It's the only one I like (as she's my fave character).



So, it's not so much that Liara fits my Shepard, but that my Shepard fits with her (in interesting ways). For example, my Shepard is a Paragade with a bit of a dark past that leaves her a bit guilt-ridden and a little self-hating sometimes. I think Liara is a perfect 'pick me up' for her, due to her patience and compassionate heart.

My main Shep was a bit of a player in ME1, flirting with Ashley, hooking up with the Consort and later Liara, etc. Being killed rather shifted his priorities, and after a less-than-warm reception from Liara and the incident with Ashley on Horizon (both of which I thought were fine and added some depth to the NPCs in question), Darius Shepard became uncertain of a great many things, especially himself. He's a bit macho and a little bit of a jerk, so he kind of hooked up with an opposite in the more demure and geeky Tali in ME2. Still, she was there, and had always been there for him.

Besides, she called Shep a force of nature, and flattery will get you everywhere.

My paragade stayed loyal with Ash through all of ME2.

My paragon went for Liara in the first game but by the second game he was all for Miranda.

The renegade likes her self some asari.



And I'd say that those Li's fit each of them perfectly, it really just depends on who you like better.

In my first game in ME1 I never really liked Liara and I saved Kaidan since he was the superior officer. Then in ME2 my Shepard hooked up with Tali. Definitely the best for my Shepard.

My femshep who didn't romance anyone in ME1 romanced Thane.  She's a cold renegade so she doesn't really deserve him, but they have a connection I suppose.  And she's an infiltrator and he's an assassin so I dunno...they're both...stealthy?  haha.  I enjoyed the Thane romance.

I've done like a few others. I have LOTs of Sheps and basically have played the field. I really want to see what happens with Renegade + Liara ; Shep + Ash ; Shep + Ash & cheated with Tali ; Shep + Tali

My Shepard is a sole survivor who romanced Garrus. She started having a silly crush on him in ME1 (badass and polite also dem hips, how do they work? *stare*) but the interspecies thing made her think she was out of her gourd. Dying put a different perspective on things, she wasn't going to let a little thing like skin plates and different amino acids put her off this time. When she heard about what happened with his team I imagine she could relate to what he was going through since she's been there. She's also an earthborn so she's a paragon who used to be more renegade and finds is endlessly amusing she's now dating an ex-cop, she also has issues with abandonment and Garrus is the one guy who never let her down through both games.

I picked to stay with Kaidan because he was the only one through the whole series that ever gave shepard emotional support when she showed weakness.

I went with Ashley for my main in ME1 and stayed faithful to her throughout ME2. (Hope theres a good reward for staying faithful to LI's in ME3). Personally i play the game as i would if i pictured myself in those situations, and Ash seems like the right character for me. Sure her xenophobia can get annoying, but with enough Paragon talks, i seem to be able to make her feel a bit more confident in aliens. Plus it feels kinda wrong to lead her on all that time and then suddenly ditch her for the prettier girl.

My main Shep goes with Liara - the bookish, quiet girl and the renegade spectre (ironically, she's a paragon, but I say renegade because she views authority with contempt.)

With Liara coming into her own, Shepard comes to respect her, and feel less protective. Even so, you still do not want to **** with Liara, or Shepard's full force will come down on you. Just ask Vasir.

Of all of the above, the archetype my canon Shep will be taking with him into ME 3 is Ash.

I chose Liara because she is the shy anti social little girl that opens her heart up to you. I also am deeply in love with the fact that she went through all she did just to get me to Cerberus.

I love Tali because she is also the shy little girl who watches the hero from afar. I guess I like Alien Virgins.

ME3 is going to be a pain.
