Did You Choose a LI that truly Fitted with Your Shepard?

For non-Gibbed femShep(which I usually play as I'm a female myself) romances, I only love Thane. There's just something so attractive and yet so tragic about him. Kaidan was such a douchebag to me, and Garrus...nah. Thane's so much hotter. I actually tried Taylormancing once, and I couldn't stop laughing throughout. The prriize anyone?

EDIT: And there is nothing WTH about Thane, OP. He's easily one of the best love interests in the series.

Female Paragon: Garrus
Male Paragade: Tali
Male Renegade: Miranda
Female Renegade: Liara
Any Questions?

I really did not expect to romance anyone in ME2. Thane snuck up on me. They awakened each other, so to speak. While Liara's initial "rejection" -- for lack of a better term -- of Shepard convinced her that spending two years dead caused too much of a rift in their relationship. In short, she cares for Liara but she's in love with Thane.
The other options aren't even options for me. Garrus would feel too much like incest, Jacob is just... <_< And Kaidan? Well, he's dead.

My female Shepard was with Liara but went to Garrus. A combination of two tired soldiers who find comfort in each other.

Yes, I do believe that Tali is my best option.

Garras, much as I like him is just too bony, I like softness too! And Thane is dying so I am not going to get into a doomed relationship. Forget Jacob - I wish I could!
Nopes, I liked Kaidan's mix of sensitivity and strength, and how he cared for me as a person in the game. I'm satisfied.

My male Shepard stayed loyal to Tali (avoided romance in ME1). Frankly I really like her. A pleasant personality, smart as hell and one of my most valuable soldiers in both games.

I found that Tali was the most honest of the LI choices and she was a really likable character.

Ashley, had a lot in common, military family, etc. Ash died at Virmire
regretably. Miranda though, was also much like Shepard but in the ways
of being meant for greatness and carrying great burdens. When it's just
the two of them, they can focus on being simply human beings.
FemShep 1 (Tweener): Known
for being a tough girl with a soft side. Usually she does not put up
with any whining and any crap. But Kaidan struck a chord with her, and
she found him to be sweet. After Horizon, she could barely contain
herself after seeing the drama king on full display. Jacob on the other
hand was no drama king and played a little 'hard to get' with Shepard.
After a life of instability, Shepard found stability with Jacob
FemShep 2 (Paragon): She always had the hots for Liara from the getgo. Also had a fling with Shi'ira at one point too. Kaidan was a bit disappointed, but Shepard was nice and polite to everyone. Her only setbacks might have been slightly poor judgments on the battlefield.
MaleShep 4 (Humanist): Notably seeing aliens in a bad light, Shepard would prefer someone who doesn't like aliens as a love interest. Enter Ashley, who has shown not to trust aliens either. Shepard thought he hit the jackpot on this one. However, he is now thinking of ditching Ashley and continuing on his anti-alien crusade alone.
FemShep 3 (Paragon): Much like FemShep 2, this Shepard always liked Liara right off the bat, proudly commenting that she saw Liara first before Kaidan. That said, she was always very respectful to everyone, and didn't engage in casual sex with the Consort, preferring to wait for an actual relationship (could barely contain herself though when she found Liara).
FemShep 4 (Paragade): A true battler through and through. Spending most of her time crushing enemy aliens, she does at times regret having to make those ruthless decisions for the better of the galaxy. With Kaidan, who she considers a sweetheart, she may be able to find peace and solace, and a way for humans and all aliens to get along. She does have a temper though.
FemShep 5 (Renegon): She considers herself to be very professional and pro-military, willing to do the dirty jobs that no one else will. While she can be informal for the sake of establishing a professional relationship, she will take her officers to task for behaviour she deems inappropriate. After the brutal mission at the Collector Base, she completes the survivors' loyalty missions in exchange for their work on the suicide mission. During that time, she discovers how lonely she actually is, and finds herself in the arms of Garrus. She vows not to lose her edge though.
MaleShep 5 (My Morality): Based on decisions I would make minus the foresight I already have. Would have tried to romance Ashley, only for that to backfire on me when I was forced to leave her behind on Virmire. However with the new Normandy, I call the shots. And ultimately that leads to shacking up with my sweet secretary Kelly. Spy or not, she's been very nice, very helpful, and she feeds my fish for me. If she could make sandwiches, she'd be a slam dunk and forget the other romances.
More hopefully to come. Male Sheps 2 and 3 have no romances. So far. I feel my Shepards have LIs that fit them fine.

I chose nobody. Why? Because every scifi epic, every good movie in the history of since when, has had romance in it. The main character also whoops ass and gets ass. But I've yet to see the main character save the day and never get the girl. So I figured, "well, this is a chance at originality, I'll take it." So, I save the day, and smile on as everybody else is happy with somebody else. It is much more mature and realistic that way, to be quite honest, and it makes for a much more original story and atmosphere. The lone wolf, with his ever alert at his side and into battle. He has friends, allies, and bad-asses. He kicks ass as well. He needs nothing more.
I agree with this 99%. The other 1% says... what about Ripley?

Shepard A romanced Garrus because she felt both of them needed someone to lean on and cares about him more than anyone else on her crew. She'd originally suggested sexing as a joke, but realized that, as weird as it was, she actually had feelings for the guy. Also, she has a womb of steel and only Garrus is on par with her in terms of badassey, plus I have this really weird turian fetish. Had the same problem with the protoss when I played StarCraft, to be honest. Too much information?
Oh no, I have the same protoss....I mean PROBLEM. I've wanted to cling/grope/molest a few Protoss in Starcraft. Yummy, yummy maliens.
...Wait, what?
Emily Shepard lost her family on Mindoir and then became a hero during the Blitz, but could never find the right person for her. It's very lonely being at the top and all, she's idolized, everyone has high expectations, she never had any time for love. But then she met Lt. Kaidan Alenko. And he was so very unlike other guys. He didn't worship the ground she walked on, nor did he try to one-up or outdo her to prove his masculinity. He was solid, stable, endearing in his embarassed ways. Not to mention he wasn't bad looking. But then, Virmire happened. The relationship she'd developed with him was put to the ultimate test, and unfortunately, Kaidan was sacrificed, the mission coming before her emotions. It left her more than a little broken and empty. And who should come to pick her up off her feet that Garrus Vakarian [Yes, I ignore the fact that without an LI no one talks to Shepard at his/her locker]. At the time she didn't much of it, but two years later, aboard the SR-2, she found Jacob. He was so much like Kaidan, the same solid, sturdy, handsome, cute if embarassed, steady individual. Realizing she was simply substituting the man she'd lost for his spiritual duplicate, she let him down easy [Again, ignoring the atrocious Jacob romance that has FemShep acting like a tramp]. She came to realize that the person who'd been there the most for her, who'd been her pillar of support during those empty times, was Garrus. And thus, a romance was born.

Fun facts about my other Sheps:
My FemSheps are almost never faithful.
My Sheps who get with Tali got with Liara first and if there's another virgin on ME3 they're ready to boldly go where no man has gone before.
If I end up not liking how a FemShep turned out in ME2 she ends up with Garrus.
Almost all my Renegades sleep with Jack in the basement.
For some reason my Male War Heroes always pick Liara.
None of my Sheps ever romanced Kelly (even when I tried I couldn't get the final scene).
