No there is still the starter mission but this time you are looking for Mordin at Omega. I didn't play past the sick batarian because I was hating aiming the sniper rifle with a controller.

It's more high quality then the 360 version, and it seems to be playing at 60 frames instead of 30. But there is screen tearing, and the shadows are sometimes WAAAAY too dark. There's also some sound audio, where the sound is way off.

The Bioware community team is extremly active on their forums.  The DA Dev team is also very active, particularily the writing team.  They are awesome!

My suggestion would be to add Mike Laidlaw, Seb Hanlon, Chris Priestly, David Gaider, Sheryl Chee, Mary Kirby, John Epler and anyone else you see with a dev tag to your friends list to help you keep track of all the posts! Not only do all the above comment on game stuff sometimes they just socialize on the forums!

i just realized what was going through my head when i saw this: "wow, even though thats me, im glad a developer noticed my asterisks, and removed it, a.k.a., noticing the forum in general, while normally, i see people swearing up a storm because they dont pay attention... wow..."

But back on topic of the Demo...I don't know if I just have unrealistic expectations coming from a pretty rocking gaming PC or what but I definately did notice some jerkiness in the graphics and that they just felt "off".  That said gameplay felt pretty good, except for the aiming of the zoomed in sniper rifle but that's probably all my fault coming from a keyboard and mouse.  Jacob looks way better!  Before he looked like a chipmunk, even on the PC.

Release date is NA Jan 18, rest of the world Jan 21.  You definately can play without having played the original but if possible I would definately recommend it, especially if you are more a fan of the story vs. the gameplay.  It isn't essential but seeing your choices, even just in email text form, come back in ME2 can be very rewarding.  ME PC systems requirments aren't that horrendous if you can play on medium or so settings but even so I can understand it's not an option for everyone.

I've been playing the demo for a while now, really like it, graphics are pretty damn good.
Now I'll answer some of the questions I saw
I only noticed screen tearing in the opening cut scene, the one about ME1scared me a little, but the game runs smoothly. I've also noticed some sound bugs in the second part on the demo, after reaching the clinic. (after playing fallout this game is a blessing)

Shadows too dark? Just change the brightness of your TV/game

I guess those little problems are just present in the demo

The game runs at HD 720p, like any other game of that magnitude. As for the sound I don't know. It's a demo anyway, usually final versions always performs better.

Now moving on to Dead space before I fall asleep.

well, thing is,
this isnt my computer....
mine was so bad it crashed after 20 min. of playing Portal... i REALLY want ME1... but its not really an option for now... but i will try to get it when i get a new computer.

ONly took till 8pm for Sony to update!!! WTH? I never seen it take so long to update before! PLayed the demo and my hat goes off to Bio for the excellent summery of the first game! I did notice so frame drops during it and a slight graghical glitch at the very top of the screen like a flicker for a few frames, but it disappeared afterward. When the game started it was flawless and the graphics def got a bump. Models look better as the textures pop more, refractions look better, enviroments look better and you notice normals more....I almost thought they retextured a few places in the environment... LIghting nice and man some of the characters really look amazing! The VOrcha for instance...wow! Or Mordin's head I seen more detail and bumps than I remember. I was hoping there would be no loading, but it seemed the same. I say the port gets a Solid out of Solid! + 5 to PS3 ports! I still felt I got some random renegade points at the very end with mordin. I got a +5 to ren when I was Par in the conversation, then it immediately gave me +9 to Par... I was confused on that one. ME2 will be good times again. I did my Engineer run to start it off! I dont care what the stats say on popular class!

Oh 1 small thing? Why 720P?! Bioware I hope that's only for the demo.
