Will there be a bug patch for PC version any time soon? Since the new Mass Effect 2 PS3 is coming out?

I believe  a bug patch is scheduled for "when hell freezes over".  No there won't be any more patches to fix the blatant bugs in the PC version.

Yay it's on PS Store EU at last... busy downloading it and LBP2. Fairly big update.

Just looking at games near my desk, Call of Duty Black Ops, Dragon Age Origins, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, all those allow higher than 720p. I imagine if I look at the rest of my games I could find 10.

Nah it's a different thing. Console games are designed for 720p (or lower, for example Red Dead Redemption for PS3 have sub-HD resolution). If you have  TV with bigger resolution (for example 1080p), game is automatically upscaled. Textures are still 720p.

I'm not really impressed by anything in particular on the PS3 version. It has the smoother animations from the PC version sometimes, but then loses frames right after that smooth animation. I mean it isn't bad but it's noticeable enough for me. Ever since I downloaded both disks to my 360 hard drive it has been loading a bit faster and everything is running better. So to me these versions are comparable with neither knocking it out of the park.

Well my tv is full HD 1080p and, a 720p game plays 720p on it. FF13 plays at 1080p, like a lot of other games, but I know it's 720p upscaled.

But honestly, you need to be really really hardcore to notice a huge difference. I mean I've seen PC-PS3-XBOX comparison and, it's so minor. I'd never pay 3000$ for a gaming computer to experience this minor difference.
After all, there are not a lot of games with better graphics than Uncharted. Besides Crysis.

I had lots of screen tearing in the early parts, the other half of the demo had some major sound bugs for me and the frame-rate is uneven. Otherwise controls and graphics where acceptable.

I play on the PC, but I tried the PS3 demo anyway. Compared to the 360 demo the graphics are slightly different. As to which looks better, I'd say it's a matter of taste. I actually like the PS3's more natural lightning. At the same time it looks like they've made really bright sources even brighter. As in blinding. As a downside it's somewhat choppy as far as I can tell. The 360 had some tearing at times, but the PS3 has even more tearing. Still, being a demo it's possible it's based off an earlier build of the game.

PS3 graphics are dumbed down again!? ISNT THE PS3 VERSION SUPPOSED TO LOOK BETTER?

First of all, I'd like to point out that the demo was very fun, smooth, and graphically amazing, however I thought PS3 owners were getting the better version graphically? I mean Take a look at these comparisons. If the Mass Effect 3 engine looks like that, then I'd rather stick with the original engine. /images/forum/emoticons/angry.png

Please tell me that this is an old build and the retail version is going to be better?

As I said, the only real difference is in the lightning. The graphics aren't really "worse" per se, although that comes down to personal taste I suppose.

360 version has more details towards the face. Miranda on PS3 looks like a retarded wax doll. Shepard looks as if he was albino?

Well here we go...

http://www.eurogamer...analysis?page=1

This is the tech analysis of both Demos (PS3, XBOX)

The analysis takes videos, screenshots, frame rate tests, screen tearing etc.

The bottom line? The game is different, some things are better while others are a question of taste.

Minor improvements. Some problems on Xbox have not been fixed etc.

New Mass effect 3 engine? Definitive version? According to Digital foundry, the game is different, not better. So I guess Bioware claiming the game to be so much better was just PR after all...

I hope BioWare see this because I truly thank you for bringing Mass Effect 2 to the PS3. My PC is sorely in need of an upgrade, and I own a PS3, which left me with no way to play this game. Thank you for bringing it to the PS3. Really. I need this game. So much.

I don't see why people are being like this. Obviously, I am slightly biased, because I want to play it, but surely this allowed BioWare to expand their studio which gives them more budget? And then brings them back more money? Which brings even better games in the future?

Wow who gives a crap if it's not 100 times better than the Xbox 360 version, at the end of the day as long as it isn't a bad port which is worse than the Xbox 360 version does it matter? We should be happy with the fact that Bioware are bringing it to the PS3 and that they've done more than just a "port". Plus the Bluray will have all the DLC on disk for free. Demo looked great to me, can't wait.

ps. Here's a link to a video comparing PS3 and the 360 versions: http://uk.ign.com/vi...jectid=14235018

Shows the PS3 version is the nicer looking which is a contradiction to those screenshots above. So again, who cares.

finish the demo, bad framerate, very good graphic quality.

Sound issues un the Mordin's clinic, but this they'll fix (with a patch of course), the framerate not. XD

didn't like the demo. To slow and the 3rd person view seems to close for me, Id prefer a little bit further back for the angle over the shoulder. Not bothered about the graphics to much, its a demo but I won't be buying the full game.

to many games as it is and ones I have been wanting take preference over this and ME3 next year.

Nice to see Bioware expanding but this one isn't for me.

I honestly didn't see a difference between my PS3 and Xbox. When I played the demo, I thought for a second that it looked better, but when I played them both and compared the on-screen visuals one to the other, I really couldn't distinguish any difference. The ligting is a little deeper, but of course that would be the case with an updated engine. Textures all look identical, finish looks identical, etc... For some reason, the intro lagged worse than the 360, so my decision on whether or not I'll buy the PS3 version when it comes out is whether or not it can handle the sections which normally chug (I'd like to see how it does during the second half of the Suicide Mission).

The demo of Mass Effect 2 on the Playstation 3 is NOW available in North America. It will be available in Europe and the rest of the world tomorrow December 22. Check your Playstation Home network or GO HERE for details. :)

You Guys are Awesome, I loved the option to swap L1 R1 for L2 R2 triggers(which I believe will be the same in the full game right), the graphics and how smooth the game run on PS3 are a bonus, I need to get ready because you guys are going to clean up my wallet next year, ME2 PS3, DA2 PS3 and ME3 PS3 and 360 as well since I have the first two...

All PS3 shooters use l1 and r1 for shoot, so it makes sense really...

Not really, CoDs you can switch, OFP:DR was the triggers by default and there's a few more I can't remember right now. That's why I even got the triggers for my controlle
