I have played through the demo fully twice, and two other times it froze up on me during the Mordin mission. Once I had to quit the game, the other time froze up my PS 3.

The times I finished it were a lot of fun. I'm a dedicated ME 2 Insanity player on the Xbox 360 now. It was a fun challenge to do the PS 3 demo with the Infiltrator on Insanity. I had fewer points to spend than with my ME 1 character import on the 360, and I don't have the upgrades and armor pieces I normally have for the Mordin mission, so playing a gimped Infiltrator was a nice challenge.

Then I started an Adept Insanity run on the demo and have not yet been able to finish it, the Adept skills seem to cause the most problems with freezing up and delayed sound effects, specifically Singularity and Warp.

Still I plan to get the game on the PS 3, can't wait.

I tried Insanity dificulty but as the name says, it's insane. I have a pretty much max out Infiltrator but it got to a point of annoyance so I tried my soldier which it's pretty max out too, I stopped to play another game and since it will come to PS3 I was thinking of trying that achievement or trophy again, for the achievement it is the last one I need to get. What class would be the best?

I tried the demo, it looks nice most of the time, but it has screentearing and it made my PS3 crash on the second part of the demo. There are still things to improve. The PC version is still the best because of the falst loading and better textures. But I don't remember any screen tearing in the 360 version and it's the one I,ve played the most.

I didn't like the fact I same Male Shep in the preview even if I chose Fem Shep. It broke the immersion in the game.

i had screen tearing in the 360 version, and many times when i did the renegade or paragon options the 360 version would stall for a second then go normal.

My only complaint for the demo so far is i can't skip the intro, yes it was totally interesting the firt few times but i just want to get to the charecter creator now pleeeaaaasssseeeeee, ugh -___-

On the pluss side, i'm bemused by the creator, it has some nice options, got a spot of Dwayne "the rock" Johnson & a spot on Alistair

That's because it's just a promo vid that's not really part of the game.  Like all other promo material (trailers, etc.), it has default DudeShep in it.

Interestingly enough the only time the demo has frozen up on me was whilst I was playing an adept. I don't think the powers have anything to do with it though, specially not Warp because Miranda has that and constantly have her using it in all my playthroughs with no problems. Only froze up on me just as got to the last battle, Vorcha had his speech "WE KILL YOUUUU" went to go for cover and was dodging an attack when froze up. That was 5th playthrough, since then done another 2 playthroughs with other classes and had no issues.

As for your question Alex, I would highly recommend going into the 'Mass Effect 1 & 2 classes, Strategys and Builds forum' some great tips and advice can be found in there for all the classes. One question I have though is what was it about insanity that annoyed you? Knowing that can help people give you some advice to overcome that annoyance :)

The demo was very good, and was longer than I expected. The only bugs I encountered are:
1. After you meet Jacob there's a hallway you go through and theres a door at the end. Once you kill the enemies in the next room the door gets locked (probably so that you wouldn't be able to backtrack), but if you kill the enemies in the room without entering it then you get locked OUTSIDE the door, unable to move on. And since no save feature exists and no enemies left to kill you, you have to restart! Really, really annoying going through all the unskippable movies again, and it's game breaking, so the developers should address this.
2. When using subtitles, sometimes the name of the speaker is wrong, for example, in the beginning Liara says something to the crew and the subtitles hint that it's Shepard talking...
I dont know if this has been reported before, but I hope the devs read this thread so they can address the bugs people find and post here...

Basically I liked the demo. You got a chance to try the character creator, and the demo was long. Great!! But at the same time I was very disappointed with the screen tearing, unstable framerate and the audio issues. I do hope that the demo is an old build and that the final product is better.

But a guy (seemingly a reviewer) over at the NeoGaf forums, who supposedly has a review copy, commented on the demo. He couldn't say too much because he was under embargo, but he said that the demo is 100% representative of the performance of the full version of the game. Here's the link:

http://www.neogaf.co...1&postcount=366

If this is true and the guy is for real, then I'm extremely disappointed that PS3 owners must suffer a bad PS3 port yet again. PS3 users are sick and tired of bad ports. Either do it right, or don't do it at all!

I don't know if this has already been covered, but will we be able to import our demo characters into the full version of the game?

Krogans, they're the most annoying races in the galaxy. For missions like the Mordin recruitment, when sometimes you had fights right upon entering a level, they seem to be unstopable and always push me back untill I have nowhere to go. My teammates seems to go down pretty quick, even known we are max out on powers. The power I use most that seem to be more effective(plus fun to use) are Slam and the fire one I forgot the name, where you toss a ball of fire and burn the enemy to ashes. I usually have my squad mates to use theirs on the same target and I finish them off but the Krogans plus those regenerating Vorcha are annoying, the Vorcha I can still deal with but the Krogans most always will kick my butt in no time, plus I hate when they attack at the same time and usually flank me, as if one wasn't bad enough. I had fights where I had two Krogans and two flamethrower Vorsha all at once, I didn't last a sec.

From the demo though, it seem the power where you charge the enemy kind of work if you have a shotty plus fire ammo, but I still didn't try the insanity with it.

I don't think so. I think they have said it already, don't take my word for it though.

I sent Chris Priestly a PM about this before the demo came out and he said that unfortunately it isn't a feature of the demo, so no we won't be able to.

To some extent am not bothered as I doubt we'd be able to go through the comic if it were allowed.

@Alex475 aah yes... Krogans. I think to some extent this is why I've found myself enjoying the higher difficulty levels, because it has helped make me wary of them again which the lower difficulty levels for some reason didn't and they were the cause of 2 of my 4 deaths when I did an insanity run of the demo with a Sentinel.

In the Mordin Recruitment mission there is only normally one around at a time unless you storm forward at one particular point in which case you might encounter two at once. The power you were referring to is incinerate both Infiltrators and Engineers get access to that. Warp is also good at stripping armor too, so Jacobs ammo and Miranda's power help with that.

In situations with Krogan and Vorcha Pyros (flamethrowers) I'll normally go for the latter if they are closing in at same time because they are generally faster than the Krogan and if time it right you can do some damage to the former if they are close together by causing the pyro to explode. All you do is strip them of their armor then either shoot their tanks or use overload (think warp works as well?) on them and they'll go BOOM doing damage to anyone nearby at same time.

Generally if got a Krogan charging or heading in squad direction I'll get everyone to concentrate on them, stripping their armor off. In the Mordin level on demo once get them down to their health I generally get Jacob to pull them as whilst it can often have them going closer to him, it also causes them to be knocked down when they land. So plenty of time for everyone to get free hits on them.

When I know I am going to be facing a Krogan in a firefight I tend to put myself and the squad to the furthest back of the area as possible, that way more room between us and the Krogan. Though I do know of one level where that isn't going to work and a 'push' will be needed. Like I said before, I would highly advise reading some of the strategy guides in the strategy section, I've been reading them a lot lately in preparation for building my insanity run Shepard. One of the topics in there goes into detail about how to control the battlefield and so it is you flanking them rather than them flanking you ;)

This is good news for PS3 players! =)

This is an open letter to Bioware regarding this situation.

Here's how I feel about being an Xbox360 player:

I very much enjoyed playing ME1 several times through, over and over again so that I could experience the full suite of dialogue/outcomes and create several "characters" to carry along to ME2. I carried over 3 of them, 1 paragon male, 1 renegade male, and one mixed-actions female.
I very much enjoyed playing ME2 several times through, each time with one of my previous characters from ME1 so that I could not only experience the repurcussions of my previous actions, but also to set myself up for the "Full ME3 Experience" by having characters derived from several conceivable decision routes. I now have 5 different characters to bring into ME3 by duplicating my previousmale charachters and subjecting them to different decision routes.
I have planned this out very well... I thought.
Now I am very afraid.  I am afraid that 4 of the biggest decisions that I made in ME1 will have absolutely no effect on ME3, and that'd make me feel ripped-off and cheated.  These four crucial decisions are:
1. Preservation/extinction of the Rachni.
2. Preservation/termination of Wrex.
3. Preservation/termination of the Council.
4. Preservation of Ashley/Kaiden.
(Assignment of Anderson/Udina to the council is actually a ME2 decision, so it's not listed here)
Now that ME is going to the PS3, and there is no way that PS3 owners could affect the 4 crucial decisions I listed, I can only assume that you will negate the ramifications of these crucial decisions in order to placate the PS3 market.
For instance, you *SPECIFICALLY STATED* IN ME2 that the ME1 decision involving the Rachni *WILL HAVE* a major impact in ME3 based on the dialogue on Illium with the woman who was stranded and then saved by the Queen.  I don't see how PS3 owners could possibly influence the existence or extinction of the Rachni.
I'm afraid that this point will become moot in ME3; I would consider mooting this decision this to be a form of fraud.  The same high-degree of importance belongs with how the Krogan deal with tradition vs. breeding/rebuilding under Wrex's governance or not, the species-makeup of the council and their involvement with an Earth Invasion, and which alliance soldier survived to finally play a follow-up role in the series.
Please don't render my ME1 playthroughs as moot, for I would be very disappointed and certainly never purchase a Bioware game series ever again.

There is no need to post the same statement in 2 topics in the same forum. If you bothered to read up on the subject before making such posts there would also be no need for the post.

PS3 owners getting comic, it will allow them to make some of the KEY choices in Mass Effect.

you havent been around too long, have you? PS3 owners are getting an interactive comic that allows them to make ALL of the choices you listed (or almost all, not sure about the rachni). Bioware did this as "introductory material," we can assume it means these decesions WILL carry weight in ME3, especially if bioware was willing to include them with the ps3 release.

Rachni is most likely going to be in there. One of the previews of the comic stills shows a scene with the Rachni Queen in it. Anderson/Udina will most likely be a 5th and the 6th will be potential Love interest.

Wouldn't Anderson/Udina be handled in the same way the issue was handled in the 360/PC versions?

360/PC was only handled like that because it actually wasn't flagged in ME1 (or the flag was placed after the final save, something weird like that). They would likely fix that issue in the port.
