The demo isn't perfect but it surely isn't the shoddy port that some are making it out to be.
The only deficiency that the PS3 demo has vs the 360 version is a little more screen-tearing and some sound issues (I'm sure the sound issues won't be in the full game).Other than that the demo looks great and plays decent,it also has more realistic lighting, better shadows, and will ship on one disk with all DLC at no additional cost.
I wouldn't say it's the definitive version (especially in comparison to ME2 PC) but it's at least as good as the 360 version if not slightly better with all of the additional content.

i just don't understand why people are already condemning the ps3 version because they saw a portion of an UNFINISHED game! its a demo! that's why they always put a little label saying that "this demo is part of an as of yet unfinished game and may or may not represent the finished release" or something like that.
You might be right about the old build thing but until someone from Bioware confirms that we can't say for sure. Think about it though if you're Bioware trying to sell your game to a new audience why would you release a demo made from an old build of the game that's plagued with technical issues? Bioware should've known that wouldn't leave a very good impression... especially considering the PS3's history of lazy/shoddy ports. Also if it is true that the demo is made from an old build and that the final version wont have those technical issues why wouldn't Bioware take every opportunity they can to let people know that? Don't they have a community manager or public relations person who could spread the word on that?...
Or maybe they just wanted to rush out a demo for PS3 users before Christmas, as a little treat since they had to wait for the game for so long. Since after the demo was out it was pretty much holydays, than that's why no answer yet (have you guys thought about that?).
I've played very cool games from BioWare and untill I play my first bad game from them, I'll have faith on their work.

Like I've said if that's the case ,they should just tell everyone the screen tearing and sound problems are not in the retail copies.I'm leaning to they probably did fix those problems , but the other part of me would like confirmation.
If they did fix it, why the hell are they silent about it? I mean it's counter productive to let people think your game
tech sucks. So if they fixed the problems we would now about it. No news = bad news.

"Demos are rarely the finished quality of a game as they are made months before the release."
It's not a confirmation that the technical issues will be fixed but it is a confirmation that the demo was made from an old build and isn't 100% representative of the final/retail version.

I just sent a PM to Chris Priestly who is Bioware's Community Coordinator and told him about the technical issues in the demo. His response and I quote;

lol, it's a politician answer, won't say it'll be fixed, won't say it won't. The demo wasn't "months" before the release, it was a few weeks before.
So I guess I won't buy it day one. I'll have to see the Digital foundry tech analysis and feedback.

Yeah, wasn't exactly the answer I was hoping for due to him not saying specifically if any issues would be fixed. I'm not sure where you're getting "a few weeks" but this is a member of the Bioware staff saying demos are usually made "months" before the final version and don't 100% represent the final version. Reguardless I'm still taking a wait and see aproach and wont be buying this game day 1.

Just played through the demo, and while it felt dirty playing it with a controller, it was still pretty dang good I thought. As I own the game and all the DLC on PC, I don't know if I will buy it for PS3, but I will for sure rent it. The game looks great...controls are weird coming from the PC, but overall, I felt it was a good port. Noticed a bit of screen tearing in some cut scenes, but nothing major.
I prefer playing 3rd person shooters with a controller it felt more natural then the mouse and keyboard. But I liked both version PC and 360. I doubt I'll buy the PS3 if it's exactly like having ME2 with all the DLC on 1 dsic.

Am I going to have to sit through that 10 minute intro every time I load up the demo?
I wouldn't say it's 10 minutes. Generally what I tend to do is fire the demo up, get past the screen where select difficulty and what not and just as the 'previously on...' screen pops up, I go make myself a cuppa, by time I get back from making said drink, it's normally at the part where have to interact with Liara
Anyway the 'previously on...' cut-scene won't be in the final game. That is just there to give people an idea about the story. Final game will have a comic we can use to get some proper in depth background for it. Fully voiced and interactive.
