Then they should release a multiplayer footage/demo for ME3 and see if people like it.

Nope. No mp (that includes coop) whatsoever please. ME should be a sp-only experience.

If they want to take a ballsy move with their fans. But I doubt many of them will go with it. (Me included)

I'd be ok with it if there was a RE5 style co-op mode in which second and third players can assume control of Shepard's companions at any time during the combat parts of the game.

While the Mass Effect universe is certainly unique and interesting lets keep the Multiplayer confined to spin-offs and future titles that aren't connected story wise to Commander Shepard's arc. After ME3 go ahead and make a spin-off co-op RPG or something along those lines. I wouldn't mind.

I think multiplayer would be interesting in the ME universe. However, if they decide to add it on during the Shepard trilogy, I don't think it would help. Good multiplayer goes through lots of development stages and betaing, so I don't think it would be a good idea to apply it to the trilogy.
However, if there was a spin-off game dedicated to multiplayer, I don't think it's a bad idea (despite me being quite crap playing multiplayer with people online)

co-op im fine with as long as it's not two sheps running around
versus... i just dont feel it happening because it will completely change the gameplay. part of the gameplay is commanding your team, which you probably wont have that in multiplayer, if they have the teammates will be AI and i dont want some damn computer watching my back against human players because i say a smart AI is an oxymoron. and one thing that i need is being able to pause gametime and analyze the situation and call for the correct course of action

Nay.
Although as I have said, if EA wants to fork out the bucks for a ME3 single player that is just as big, just as complex as ME1 & 2 (if not more so - hint, hint) and throw in a separate MP mode, I'm fine w/ it. I won't play it, but I won't complain about it either. Until that happens, read the red letter below.

I swear, if BioWare adds MP to ME3, I'm going to burn both ME games and send them the ashes.
I'll f*cking do it. Don't think I will.

Nay.. save it for spinoff series... Shepard's trilogy needs to stay as a single player experience.
They can go ahead and make other ME related games multiplayer if they want (I won't buy 'em personally.. but I got no problem with them being made)... but I don't want this outstanding trilogy sullied by a filthy multiplayer (Bioshock 2, anyone?)
Brotherhood anyone?
dead rising 2 anyone?

Spin-off? Sure.
DLC add-on? Go for it.
Wasted space on my disc to use after the SP campaign is over? Part of me thinks that would be acceptable, but I'd really rather not have it.
Co-op? Option 1: controlling a companion: Why in the hell would I *stop* playing Shepard to go and take over someone else's companions when there are hordes of real MP games where we could both be equals? No, really, how is that fun? Option 2: multiple Shepards: Okay, just stop right there. No. Hell no.

In ME3? Dear god, no.
Now, if they wanted to do something akin to Star Wars Battlefront after ME3, I can't say I wouldn't be interested.
