Elevators for no other reason than it immersed me more into the world.
Elevators? Or Static Loading Screens?

Elevators. I will not accept it though unless they bring back that same voice actor who did the news reports.

Elevators as long as there is either squad banter or something else to keep me busy during this.
You know what really is immersion breaking: not being able to talk, move or do other things in the elevator, sometimes its so boring or long that i play a game on my phone while i'm waiting for it.

i liked the elevators. as a matter of fact, i sortof loved them. i liked checking out my squad, hearing the banter, and seeing some veiws. it gave me some time to reflect on what i was doing or about to do, without taking me outo of the game. for the same reason i like EDI instead of admiral hacket. i hadnt played alot of games before playing ME1 that were as emmersive, but i do know things like loading screens, spinning mass relays, and even the mission complete screen take away from that emmersion.

I think that if they made the whole ride filled with news reports or banter, and gave you the abillity to look at a teammate and press the A button to talk to them like you could in ME1 (outside of combat and elevators) i think they would have great success. BIOWARE, THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR IMPROVEMENTS IN ME2 HOWEVER WHEN WE SAY WE DONT LIKE SOMETHING TRY TWEEKING IT AND NOT TOTALLY REMOVING IT FROM THE GAME.

So far, everyone but one seems to want elevators back, and we're all giving compelling reasons/arguments for their return.
Nice.

I agree i hope this turns into a hot forum and bioware sees it deciding to bring them back... Dunno how likely that is though seeing they probably already have the preliminary plotted out.

2) Longer more in depth squad banter, or news reports.
3) The advertisements we all saw in the Citidel in ME 2 Included on the rides.
I support these!
The reason I preferred the elevators were the squad mate convos and the missions/news reports. That and it was so much more immersive than being sent to a loading screen.

Why did they take elevators out in the first place? were people complaining about it and now they want it back in type of thing?

You know what i missed too from them getting more missions from news reports in the elevators! they didn't do that at all in ME2 even when you went and watched the Emily Wong reports on the citidel. She would report a missing person and they never made it into a mission or anything, very upsetting.

Pretty much same with the mako. But people weren't being specific about what they didn't like they just simply said we dont like this and they said ok and completly pulled it from the game. I thought the elevator rides were long, but they would have been more entertaining if there was more chatter during them and not just the first 5 seconds of the ride.Chosen Predator wrote...

I never had issues with the Elevators. I remember a friend of mine asked me after I beat ME1 if I had a problem with the elevators. I said not at all, it made me feel like I was moving point A to point B instead of some loading screen. It was cool to hear your squadys talk or hear what's going on in the news. When the elevators were taken away I was VERY disapointed.
So Elevators all the way.

personally elevators, it was that extra step of immersion that i liked, although if elevators were the default setting what about replacing them with static loading screens as an option for those who dont like them

Elevators all the way. As for anyone who claims that 'load screens were faster'? They weren't. I ran ME1 on my previous, inferior computer, and when I bought the new and improved parts for my current one and played ME2, the load-times were just as long. So if I have to choose between standing in an elevator, hearing news reports and witty banter, or a boring-ass load-screen, I'm going to pick the elevator without any question or hesitation. Far more immersive, and far more entertaining.
The fact that Bioware bothered to listen to the whining masses that nagged and moaned about the elevators and the other features of ME1 to the point of them being ripped out for ME2 is saddening. The resulting split in the fanbase between the RPG-loving ME1 crowd and the Cinema-Shooter crowd of ME2 is a clear sign that it was a bad decision in the first place.
