Elevators. It just helped ME1 feel constant rather than being broken up into sub levels. And the elevator chats were a fun distraction while you wait!
Elevators? Or Static Loading Screens?

I never got why the elevators was so hated (that being said, I did enjoy some of the elevator jokes they spawned).

I never thought the elevators were bad on my PC. When I got the game for the X360(for my brother), I tried it out because he didn't like it. Then I discovered the painfully long elevator load times. So I can understand it.
Personally I am in support of elevators though.

Both.
The CItadel elevators in ME1 took forever. Even after the level was loaded, we had to wait until the elevator sequence ends. Sure ME1 had some party dialogues to make it less boring, but there were too few of those and once we heard those, we got generic news instead. ME2 did better job with all those generic news (and ads). At the same time there is not much hope for more party dialogues - ME1 had 15 party combinations, ME2 had 66 and I doubt ME3 is going to have less than 45 combinations.
If BioWare were to use elevators in ME3, they should let us skip them, to get loading screen that ends the moment the level is actually loaded.
Story mission elevators are different. There should not be a loading screen. Elevators are good opportunity to show the environments (mostly cities) around the building or the building itself. If there are set characters, it can be used for dialogues. As the player uses those elevators once per playthrough, it does not really matter if the sequence is long. I expected Shepard to watch the night Illium while taking elevator in the Dantius towers. I would not mind pre-rendered sequence...

Elevators and Airlocks every time.
Sooooooo much better than the same repeated crappy loading screens making it seem that we're teleporting everywhere.
Or if they have to have loading screens, combine them both.
We get in the elevator/airlock, press the button and the camera zooms into the elevator/airlock control pad which has the first frame of the loading screen animation on it, seemlessly it then cuts to the proper loading screen animation, after loading, the sequence is then repeated in reverse with the end frame being on the control pad, we then exit the elevator/airlock and continue on our merry way.
Loading screens but with a hint of elevators, whilst maintaining game immersion and flow.

Elevators.
The conversations between squadmates were funny, as were the news reports

The elevator discussions were insightful. Like when Ashley and Tali were in the elevator, Ash pointed out some common features between the Geth and Quarians. I didn't realize that until Ash spoke about it.
Anyhoo, here's a fav discussion between Kaidan and Wrex in the elevator.
Wrex: So tell me who would win in a fight between YOU and Shepard?
Kaidan: What? Commander Shepard is my superior officer I can't imagine us ever having to fight.
Wrex: You can't? THAT's why Shepard is your superior officer and THAT's why... Shepard would win.
I miss having Wrex in my squad.

Add me to the list of those who'd like the elevators back.
I was amused, however, that the loading screens in ME2 were showing schematics of the elevators moving. But I still preferred the actual elevators along with the party banter and news reports. Would love to see that return for ME3.

Elevators in the levels, loading screens on the Normandy. It was silly that the most advanced ship in the galaxy had elevators slower than what was available in the 1930's...
Edit: Or they could find a way to spruce up the Normandy elevators somehow, part of their problem was that you could see how slowly it was moving and there was no banter/news reports in them to keep you entertained.

I never got the hate for the elevator rides. Maybe it was something that was patched before I played the game because they never felt long to me. They simply lasted long enough to hear some banter or a radio announcement. Worked for me.

Stealing from U2, I'd have to say.... ELEVATORS... woo-hooo, woo-hoo...
I miss them. They immersed me in the game so much more than the loading screens. Yes, they were slow. But more-or-less I was still playing, I never felt I lost control of my character for the entire duration of the original ME.

They are realy long on the 360 unfortunately. I never realy minded them but I liked that the loading screens got me where I needed to go faster.

+1 on those elevators, for reason most people have already pointed out.

Elevators, if they can be made faster. I miss the immersion created by them.

If I have to choose I say elevators, but having both would be better. Even ME (1) didn't use elevators all the time.

Little as I thought I would *ever* say this (considering how long and boring some of those elevator rides could be)...
Elevators. The party interaction is priceless, and it gives you a sense of full immersion in the game.

elevators, hands down. without them, totally lost the immersion flow of the game. also, please bring back decontamination in progress, and allowing us to walk back to the ship, versus just going back to the ship and having to redock everytime the normandy flies off.

I've always loved the elevators and I don't know why people complained about them so much. Sure they took a while but they didn't break the game and BioWare found a fun way to cover them up with a little chat here or there or cool news of your intergalactic deeds playing over the radio.
Secondly, the mission complete screens are such a pain in the ass because they break things up and make the game feel horribly linear. Those are something best left for the email system that they started up which is a nice addition that gives you non-critical information that helps the game along.

Elevators. I've always loved them, and I missed them greatly in ME2. It was a great way of further immersing yourself with what's happening in the galaxy. Plus the companion conversations were great.

I'm taking option C. Neither. I would like some bloody stairs with conversations that start up while I'm actually walking places. Only talking in elevators is absurd, if a squad mate sees something they wish to remark on they should do so.

Elevators. I think if we had interactive dialog in the elevators it would be really good. And like mentioned before, the ads (like on the citadel in ME2), the news reports like mass effect 1 and general conversations.
