When I first figured that the elevators were loading "screens", I thought Bioware was being clever. They were long, but is was a nice transition that felt real instead of staring a rust-red holograph.
When my friend told me that the elevators were the loading screen I was like... REALLY? That's kind of cool.

I liked them, it was a clever way to make the game more seamless.
The party banter was really funny and gave us some insight on squadmates personalities, and the relationships between them.
I would like to see real interaction between our squadies, be through elevators o stairs ( oh, Garrus and Tali, how I luv u ), ME2 seriously lacked there

On a side note though, The witcher 2 will have only a couple loading screens. Dont remember but I think it was 4 or 7 or something and that is awesome.

Elevators and Decontamination rooms need to make a reappearance. Immersion, immersion, immersion. Don't take me out of the game unless you absolutely have to.
Yeah i thought the Decontamination rooms were cool as well.

No, you could not - you had to use elevators twice each time you visited Citadel.abnocte wrote...
I never understood the hate for the elevators, specially when you could use rapidtrans and get a typical loading screen. <_<
(or every time you wanted to change squadmates on Citadel)

Do we even need to talk about the speed? I play ME1 and 2 installed on an X-Box and load screens make ME2 go faster than any elevator ride. The longest load times for me in ME2 are:
1.Importing from ME1.
2.Loading the character creator after the intro.
3.Switching discs.
Other than that ME2 flies through loading times to get to the actual game. You know the one where you can control stuff and make things happen? But whatever, if they can make elevators faster and packed with dialogue...cool. If they can't...f*** it. Leave it like ME2.
Threads like these make me sorry for Bioware. I hope they don't become too jaded listening to the INSANITY I've seen on these forums.

Talk about rose colored glasses. Nostalgia is one mean mutha huh?
This is human nature. Fortunately for me, i actually played ME1 again after ME2. The experience clear up any nostalgia created moments there, bringing back the terrible experiences of the Mako driving and the elevators

The sad thing is that they will get shot if they do the ME1 elevators and people actually experience the issues once again.
If Bioware then said "We gave you what you wanted", you would get the responses of "Not without improving it!" or even worse "You're the developer, shouldn't you know what is good or bad?".
Working in IT for me really shows why users don't know what they want and avoid any responsibility when confronted with their own signatures on the design specifications

Bioware can even include the option to cut dialog short with a mouse click if someone doesn't want to wait for dialog.

Then I can replace them with blank .bik files and lower the loading times to a bare minimum.
