I cannot fathom how people see loading screens better than elevators, each serve the same purpose in loading objects in the background, but surely it's better to be in world while those objects load?, and it's not like implimentation of fast travel would be difficult to placate the impatient.
Elevators? Or Static Loading Screens?

Elevators. If you don't like elevators, use fast travel stations.

The loading screens. Elevator rides took way too long.

Just do something else while the game loads. Also known as multitasking. I honestly don't understand what's the big deal about this.

They took about the same amount of time, and elevators were waaay more interesting. Of course, I'm talking the Xbox versions of both games.

Elevators. Even tali and garrus have a chat about 'being in elevators on the citadel' referencing ME1 XD

As a PC player, I just want to point out that it is likely that a lot of PC folks prefer the loading screens because, with a bit of computer savvy, they can be disabled, which allows for much quicker load times. Elevators cannot be disabled, and for those which have no fast travel counterparts (I'm thinking mainly of the C-Sec elevator, but there are others on Noveria, Ilos, and elsewhere), there is no way to make the loads faster.
I've already stated that I'm fine with elevators as an option, provided there are no mandatory elevators. Or, as Sinosleep said, I'm for whatever is fastest. I hate waiting for elevator animations even though the game has loaded, and I hate waiting for load screens even though the game has loaded. I disabled the latter, I can't disable the former.
EDIT: I meant Ilos, not Virmire. Corrected in the main post.

wow.... just about everyone loves the Elevators... I thought I was the only one. Information vital to the mission is more important to me than seeing a loading map showing where I am going in a building or ship.

Hopefully we get the Elevators back. Loading screens are not fun. In the elevators at least something interesting might be said.
Hopefully more background loading will occur, not just on the elevators. If its on two discs, the loading times better not be that long.

I've always supported elevators. My only complaint was that they appeared to move slow, and suggested that they up the speed (not loading speed mind you) of the elevators themselves.

I would love to see the elevators make a return...I also think it would be cool to have scenes on the shuttle that take you to and from the normandy that give you information about the world you going to and on the way back about the things that you affected while you were there. It would also be cool to have more car conversations like the beginning of the mission where you meet Thane. Weather its traveling from one floor to another or the ship to a planet there are plenty of places to stick conversations/news that could double as load screens.

ME1 elevators are awesome! Why would someone bash them?
