You also have to remember that earlier this year "A job listing reveal[ed] that Mass Effect developer BioWare Montreal is looking for a multiplayer programmer to 'take existing single player user experiences and make them multiplayer safe.'" (http://kotaku.com/55...ayer-programmer). It isn't really a bad or unreasonable assumption on IGN's part considering all the rumors that have been floating around. Plus on IGN Gamescoop podcast the host asked DR. Zeschuk (I think it was him...don't kill me if I am wrong lol) about multiplayer being in ME3. The Dr. basically hinted that multiplayer might be in the game, but he was really vague about it.
IGN is just a news source. If you take everything they say as fact, you're just setting yourself up for failure.

We nuked the Collectors. Don't bring them back again. There are more than enough baddies in the universe.

Since the Reapers have been doing what they are doing for a long time apparently, they might have used various races to engineer soldiers, and they might have kept those that were most powerful. So maybe we'll see *some* collectors again, but even if that is the case, I'd expect them to be but a part of the Reaper's shock troops.

I would be v. disappointed if any of that were true.

The Citadel killed most of them, they barely have anything left. As Anderson says, they just arent a threat anymore.DarthTrey wrote...

I think we can all agree that the Reapers must have some sort of ground forces allied with them. Obviously those can't be generic mercenaries or anything remotely close. Assuming the Collectors are now basically extinct, the only logical conclusion is either a "glorified" version of husks or something completely new. I'm leaning towards the former, per the trailer, but I have no clue.
Why not the indoctrinated residents of whatever planet they happen to be on?

The best I can think of is the part where the british guy scopes out someone trying to help someone else up, right before he spots the husk-like thing and snipes it.Busomjack wrote...
They also say that the traile alludes to a multi-player component. I don't see how it does though. What in the that trailer suggests that the game will be multi-player? Can someone help me out because I'm not seeing it.
Yeah - I mean they didn't even know that ME3 is gonna be released on XBOX, PC & PS3 simultaneously.Googlesaurus wrote...

So we get just husks. And maybe a horribly explained reason why there are husks with guns when there were none with the last 2 reapers we have seen or with the collectors.FieryPhoenix7 wrote...

They don't have a friggin clue. Where did they even get that from? BioWare haven't officially said anything about Collectors with regards to ME3, and the same goes for multiplayer. They're just pulling stuff out of their rear ends I'd say.
