LEt me put this really clear to bioware. I have no problem with what your doing with ME 3, but please don't put any more collector's in ME 3. I can only stand. ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL! for one game.

I doubt that it's going to be collectors anyway. There really should be something new in store for us, when the Reaper fleet arrives, and Bioware knows this.

I think we can all agree that the Reapers must have some sort of ground forces allied with them. Obviously those can't be generic mercenaries or anything remotely close. Assuming the Collectors are now basically extinct, the only logical conclusion is either a "glorified" version of husks or something completely new. I'm leaning towards the former, per the trailer, but I have no clue.

I just wanted to put out there that IGN has been talking consistantly with Bioware since ME2 launched in January. People from Bioware constantly make appearances on IGN podcasts. So it is possible that they have insider information. I wouldn't doubt it. Does that mean they are right? No of course not.

You also have to remember that earlier this year "A job listing reveal[ed] that Mass Effect developer BioWare Montreal is looking for a multiplayer programmer to 'take existing single player user experiences and make them multiplayer safe.'" (http://kotaku.com/55...ayer-programmer). It isn't really a bad or unreasonable assumption on IGN's part considering all the rumors that have been floating around. Plus on IGN Gamescoop podcast the host asked DR. Zeschuk (I think it was him...don't kill me if I am wrong lol) about multiplayer being in ME3. The Dr. basically hinted that multiplayer might be in the game, but he was really vague about it.

IGN is just a news source. If you take everything they say as fact, you're just setting yourself up for failure.

I would be v. disappointed if any of that were true.

We nuked the Collectors. Don't bring them back again. There are more than enough baddies in the universe.

Well, one could assume that the Reapers took some Collectors with them to use as shock troops during their next assault. Husks will be present too, as the trailer suggest, but on the other hand the Reapers will have limited numbers of them, because they could only have started making them upon arriving on earth.
Since the Reapers have been doing what they are doing for a long time apparently, they might have used various races to engineer soldiers, and they might have kept those that were most powerful. So maybe we'll see *some* collectors again, but even if that is the case, I'd expect them to be but a part of the Reaper's shock troops.

The Citadel killed most of them, they barely have anything left. As Anderson says, they just arent a threat anymore.

The Heretics are as good as gone. And you reprogram or kill the rest of them with Legion. But the main fraction of the Geth is still out there. They should be on your side against the Reapers though.

Why not the indoctrinated residents of whatever planet they happen to be on?

They also say that the traile alludes to a multi-player component.  I don't see how it does though.  What in the that trailer suggests that the game will be multi-player?  Can someone help me out because I'm not seeing it.

The best I can think of is the part where the british guy scopes out someone trying to help someone else up, right before he spots the husk-like thing and snipes it.

IGN can't get their facts straight.

Yeah - I mean they didn't even know that ME3 is gonna be released on XBOX, PC & PS3 simultaneously.

So we get just husks. And maybe a horribly explained reason why there are husks with guns when there were none with the last 2 reapers we have seen or with the collectors.

Collectors and multiplayer eh? IGN sure do draw some strange conclusions from that trailer. Must be drugs or too much coffee.

They don't have a friggin clue. Where did they even get that from? BioWare haven't officially said anything about Collectors with regards to ME3, and the same goes for multiplayer. They're just pulling stuff out of their rear ends I'd say.

^I bet they might just rip off the Flood and say they have guns b/c the hosts just happened to be holding them when they got turned... or that they've "simply evolved to the point where they could use weapons".
