Everyone I make seems to have out landish cheek bones that look like they could kill a man, or just in general... looks so wrong. I think it's impossible to make anything decent.
Is it possible to make anything decent with the Male shepard faces?

Very difficult. I've only managed to make one decent looking face and everything since then has been variations of that.

I have to admit, I would have been fine if my brother hadn't pointed out the cheekbones. Now I can't stop staring at them.

Same thing happened to me once. I couldn't keep playing so I had to restart.

You know, I wish you could just edit the face when you start ME2, not have to start over...

Through miserable trial and error, I have created 1 good face for a male.

I have a secret code written down but I won't post it for fear that somebody will try it and then point out something horrible about the face I didn't notice ruining about five Shepards for me.

Agreed, this seems to be the main area i have problems with myself. Damn cheekbones! Would help if the rotation angles where more free so you can clearly see whats what. Most of the errors you don't seem to notice until the games started up. Maybe thats something BW could improve on in ME3....ofcourse it really wouldn't matter much since most will be doing Import Save.
EDIT: Best i've managed to get so far:

I managed one that looks good most times through ME1 and 2

img.photobucket.com/albums/v280/ReiSilver/Shi-Long.jpg
but then sometime ME2 has this habit where a character that looks good most of the time then becomes monsterous in bad lighting

Well, those aren't bad I guess... Gonna try to accurately re-create Maximus Shepard, minus cheeks.

i made a good male shep face once. he looked like an ugly kevin dillon. it was perfect for my renegade playthrough's. now i just have the face they give you. i also have a good female shepard face. it looks good, and nothing like the default face. i tended to notice that everyone's female shepard look exactly alike, so i went out of my way to make a hot latin/asian looking chick. it looks good.

My first try was perfect, at least in my opinion. Made him in ME1, kept him for ME2, and he'll be in for ME3. Its the only Shepard I play as anymore.

It took me awhile but I finally made a face that I use all the time now. He's the one I'll use for the whole trilogy.
Sorry for the bad quality.

I'd get self-consious about my character half way through and just quit. Mass Effect 2 faces (the site) worked for me.

... I did make one before that I liked. But at one small angle I saw, he looked like my father.
Had to stop after that. Too hard to keep going.

I made a great face for my main shep.
You're right though, its almost impossibly hard to get the right combination. I think I fluked my main shep.. I'll post a pic up, I'm really happy with it & proud that it fits the character & voice so well.

cheekbones are the hardest to get right. its not really a matter of what you do with sliders as much as it is based on the pre-set models. some presets have fubar cheekbones and some are okay. I am still working on a couple different male shep variations. There are some good models in this thread already, you guys should post your face codes under the images.

Well I can’t but then I suck at drawing male faces as well. They all end up looking unnatural *stroke imaginary beard* I obviously need to stare at men more.
