So what glitches still exist on the 360 version of the game, and which major ones have been patched?

I picked this game up when it was released and gave it some attention at first, but when I attempted to play a Rogue, I discovered that stealing, bows and daggers were all severely glitched and did not work properly (or work at all in the case of stealing), prompting me to quickly put the game back down due to the presence of these disruptive bugs as well as the developers' infuriating tendency to not provide any support or comments whatsoever on these issues.  My plan was to wait out the bugs and come back to this game after a long while, giving the devs time to patch them so that I could finally play DA:O as it was originally designed.

Much to my disappointment, I logged onto these forums only to see that the latest patch (1.04) introduced new game-breaking bugs with its release and had to be pulled, and once again Bioware has not provided any helpful information on the issue in the respective topic in their announcements forum.  All I can find is angry posts from 360 players who can't figure out whether or not the 1.04 patch was ever properly released for 360.  I was also considering buying some DLC and the expansion for this game as I got back into it, but after seeing all the complaints about how buggy Awakenings is, needless to say I have changed my mind about that and will be very cautious about buying DA2.  For now I can only hope that the vanilla game was properly patched at some point; were the major gameplay bugs in the vanilla game fixed, or not, and if not were any of them fixed or are they all still there?

Great, thanks for the help. Glad they fixed the big 3 that were really killing me, I know there's a whole host of minor bugs that will never be fixed, but those are tolerable. Faith in Bioware (somewhat) restored.

A lot of the minor bugs weren't touched, it took ten months for a real patch so I guess I wanted more than what was fixed. At least they fixed the dex bug, but there are still a lot of freezes and buggy areas, especially the fade. The graphics bug in Awakening, while minor for some realy bugs me, it just screams sloppy testing when the sentinel armor shows up as warden commander armor and the sword vigilence shows up looking like starfang. I don't really feel like deleting a dlc just to have proper looking armor and weapons, but that seems to be the only workaround.

One thing I did learn though, is that preordering any new game from EA/Biowareis a mistake, no matter what sort of preorder bonuses they offer. Gonna be "wait and see" from now on after the mess this game had for support.

Oh, absolutely. I regret paying $60 for a broken game and will not be buying DA2 until its price is marked down and its inevitable major glitches (its release date is less than a year and a half after DA1 despite how many other projects Bioware's been doing--very bad omen imo) have been patched. And any sort of DLC is out of the question at this point.

At some point there will be no more patches even if the software is not perfect.

Right now DA:O is very playable [if memory serves it is many times better than Buggerfall was] but a list of errata would allow us to safely work around most of the remaining problems and that should greatly improve the experience.

Those of us that use the XBox and PS3 have paid more for the title but received less and cannot easily modify our versions.

What is not fixed in official patches cannot be corrected by us. [Especially since MS has apparently banned Oblivion players from Live for only fixing the ABomb in their game saves. This means that even if there were user-created fixes available we could not apply them without risk.]

Please post a list of errata detailing where the software differs from the player's manual and in-game documentation.

Thank you.
