i say they should add conversation lines to 2nd player... they should also have paragon and rogue actions too. like 2nd player does rogue while 1st player(shepard) does paragon and stops 2nd player from that action. *hopes it doesn't turn in to mmo... better be free if it is*

So they make th resources to support two fully differnt way for conversations to end up (or three, if you have two squadmates). And if you can play as any squadmate, that means lots and lots of recorded conversations, and for everyon you can talk with if you play it solo or in co-op, and in co-op with one or two (not to mention I persoanlly dont want anyone butting in on my game). The only way I see co-op work is a whole special campaign made for that, not relateed to Shepard, and I don't see the point of including that in ME3, the conclusions to Shepard's story.

well thats your opinion maybe you should think about it IF YOU DONT LIKE THE MULTIPLAYER DONT PLAY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you want a multiplayer shooter, go out and buy one. There are plenty out there already, without Bioware having to spend extra time and resources addnig smoething into the game that 95% of the players do not want. Gioven the extra code that has to be pumped into the engine to support it, there is a greater chance that it will ruin the game, than it will improve it.

Whilst we're at it, lay ofthe caps. It makes you look and sound like a whiney 10 year old who is throwing a tantrum because mummy wont buy him a lolly.
jesus christ doesent anyone have a brain anymore:crying:
Wow, all your replies have been extremely immature, I honestly don't know how old you are and I have no intention to insult but you need to grow up. On topic, multiplayer would be sort of trashy, I wouldn't mind it for a FCW game but not ME3. Let the trilogy be and expand on it later, that way fans can be satisfied and decide whether they are interested in anything after the trilogy rather than forcing it down our throats.

I would like it to be on an entirely seperate disc, in a seperate case, sold at least fifteen months after ME3 hits the shelves, thus ensuring it has nothing to do with ME3 whatsoever and doesn't spoil the already unstable state of the series' quality as of ME2.

In my worst dreams ME3 will be the 100th game in the past couple of years to include a zombie mode where you fight every increasing waves of husks (in the place of zombies).

They will probably also include a competitive mode where you play as random NPCs that you can customize with ME1 style armor, weapons, and biotic/tech abilities.

And they will probably include some sort of drop in drop out co-op were a friend can play as a squad member.

The real question is would any of these ideas be original? Would they fit in the existing ME design paradigm? And the answer to both questions is a resounding NO!!!

I whole heartedly agree with most of my fellow posters in this thread, MP in ME3 should be nonexistent...

I really don't want co-op.

It really is a useless mechanic, and would not work with ME at all.

It currently does not work with the ME story. Unless you pick sides. Quarians vs Geth, Eclipse Mercs vs Blue Suns (there is a thought... use various classes and races on merc squads to battle each other in the Traverse. However, ME3 should stay single player. Let a multi-player game come later.

If I want multi-player I play games like Halo:Reach, AC:B, hell I'm even going to play ToR when it comes out, even Left4Dead I play. When I want my singleplayer RPG fix I play games like ME1 ME2 and DA:O, I don't need multiplayer aspects in my singleplayer games, Fable2 did it and it FAILED..HORRIBLY, keep them separate please..I play RPGs to get AWAY from the 12 yr old kids crying, hell I logged more hours played in ME2 then I did MW2 and Halo reach put together, and while I think Co-op MIGHT be cool, I don't see how it could work.

Okay I know this discussion isn't about wether Mass Effect 3 should or shouldn't have multiplayer. But I have to say that I really REALLY don't think they should add a multiplayer component to this great trilogy. And it's not because I'm bad a multiplayer, cause I'm actually pretty good at games like Call of Duty and Gears of War, its just that I see games like Army of Two the 40th Day and BioShock 2 whose multiplayers fail dramatically to stand up to most gamers standards. And not only that but by making a multiplayer component for a game it cost the single player campaign, so that the game creators spend less time working on the single player then they should. Which is fine in games like Halo and Call of Duty where most of the people buy the game mainly for the multiplayer, but there are too many games where the campaign feels dull and downgraded do to the fact that the developers added in an unneeded multiplayer which ends up failing anyways.

I think the ME universe is ripe for making a good multiplayer game, but only if they do something different. If you're just playing CoD with a Quarian suit on, it won't be compelling. Like others have said, this thread is supposed to be about what would be possible with a ME multiplayer game.

What I'd like to know is why it seems like an increasing amount of people seem to think that every single game has to have multiplayer in it. Are people not happy with good single-player anymore?

If Bioware did announce multiplayer, I'd be very disappointed, as they have no reason to include it other than if they cave in to peer pressure. I'd be worried about whether or not the Single player campaign would suffer as a result (which it most likely would), but whatever Bioware would decide to go with would be the right decision.

If Bioware does multiplayer, and that's a big "if" (I hope), they should have it as a separate game, rather than something that comes with the main ME.

I think race types for specific gametypes would be interesting (ex. Guardian-like gametype where the leader is a krogan and humans defend/attack the leaders; both teams are factions of pirates or raiders). A Battlefront-style multiplayer game wouldn't be too bad either.

I don't want any deathmatch type multiplayer. This is Gears of War, BUT I do want multiplayer coop. Drop-in drop-out style. That would be awesome

Anyone who wants to play a multiplayer game, doesn't need to wait for ME 3. There are countless multiplayer games available, and new ones are released constantly.

If Bioware adds multiplayer it won't be from peer pressure.  I know a lot of people on this forum are talking about how the multiplayer should be, but go to any other forum and almost everyone is saying no to multiplayer.  From what I've studied I'd say at least 85% of Mass Effect fans do not want a multiplayer for ME3.  If they added one it would be out of greed for more money.

hmmm what's the best way for them to make the multiplayer?...

I think the best way is undoubtably to NOT have one

But seriously IF they did make a multiplayer they should make it like...

oh wait.. I still don't think they should add a multiplayer

Really, even if I knew the multiplayer would be great (which is unlikely cause multiplayer just doesn't work for some games) I still would be arguing against it because every day they'd be working on the multiplayer would be another day they wouldn't be working on the campaign. come on this is the finale to a Great trilogy I'm expecting it to be beyond Epic and you all want them to waste their time with a multiplayer?!? I want them to spend every minute possible to bring us a game that will blow us away I don't care if the game is delayed a year or two. as long as it is the best they can make it.

The most important thing is that they dnt mess up the SP by concentrating on MP, bt if they cld successfully make a MP then they should ad a drop in co-op splitscreen for SP where your friend cld be a team mate like garrus, miranda etc. and for the Online MP they cld maube let you choose a race(human,krogan,asari.....) and then class (soldier, vanguard, engineer.....) and then fight against other players in teams or special game modes

Also maybe a online co-op
