i haven't played mass effect 2 for a while and it seems different as the screen looks smaller as it has those big black horizontal strips ( i dont know what there called) and wondering is it my xbox tv or just me.

I'm not sure what to tell you, I'm positive it's not the game because that only happens with TV's, so i'm quite sure it's the TV. I would check the menu or settings.

Check to make sure the aspect ratio hasnt changed for either TV or Xbox.
Sounds to me like the "letterbox" effect you get when trying to play some widescreen movies on a 4:3 tv instead of 16:9.

thats it the letterbox thing its a old tv so the ratio i have no clue.
