(this is not a topic about the whole trailer there is already a post for that)
I'm writing this post to discuss the soldier narating this trailer, I would guess he is most likely a squad mate judging by the fact that he has a voice actor (who is?) and bioware seems to put key characters in theyre trailers most of the time
also
this soldier kills some kind of ground enemy that seems to be attacking humans, is this a ground force for the reapers? i couldnt tell if it had a weapon or not, but please watch the trailer and see for yourself

Nope. I thought so too. Gaming sites have stated that it's actually a Collector and that they'll be coming back.

Sniper has been given the name of Ben in the Forums.

If it is a Collector they've received a massive redesign. Both in appearance and behavior.

Either that or it's the black sheep of all Collector's.

Okay the ground enemy is a Husk, and so what the pom has a voice actor? EVERY character in ME has a voice actor, so it really means nothing. I suspect that since he's on Earth and Shep isn't, that the pom will be important, but not a party member.

Also Ben. Really? Little Ben the Sniper in Big Ben the clock. Facepalm anyne?

1. It's a husk. Collectors have COMPLETELY different anatomy and guns and don't just run towards their targets.

2. The guy might or might not be a squadmate. He has no name as of yet.

IGN is the only site that has claimed anything about the collectors so far.

And as one of the other forums users mentioned, you cant spell ignorant without IGN.

He's called Ben in the forums by people in the forums because there isn't a name yet. And yes, it's because it's easier to call him Ben (like Big Ben) than That-Guy-In-The-Window.

Is it just me or does he have an Australian accent?

It looked more like a Scion to me. I swear it had that distinctive Scion lump.

Definitely not a Scion. Its either a Collector or a Husk, or, more likely, something we haven't seen yet.

Seconded. Definately a pom, though I can understand how, to foreigners, Aussies might sound like Poms. Kinda the same way how for us, Americans and Canadians sound almost identical, it's all about where you're from.

The thing he shot was either a husk or a human. If you go through it frame by frame, you can distinctly see a round human head (not Collector V shape or Turian spikes or anything like that) and you can see a very clear 5 fingered hand at :33 seconds. In addition, the legs and feet are regular plantigrade (human style) and not digitigrade (Turian/Collector/dog hind legs).

There's no question about it, what he shot was at some point Human.

I lived in Texas for 6 months and I can assure you as a canadian they thought my accent was weird.

Not knowing where many other races homeworlds are located, wouldn't make since for the reapers to hit earth purely out of location? Earth is quite close to the galaxy's arms which at ftl wouldn't take all that long to reach. Once earth is dominated that opens up the relays which would allow for control of them all. Tactically, that would make earth a galactic Normandy for a reaper invasion.

I think the target is a new kind of enemy. I certainly hope so, anyway. Without spoiling anything, the main ground troops from the previous two games are now both moot points.

A new kind of enemy that has 5 fingered hands, a round "human shaped" head and human legs?

If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck and it has the wings and beak of a duck, I'm going to guess its a duck and not a deer.

It has to be either a crazed indoctrinated human or a Husk.  Both make perfect sense in the middle of a Reaper invasion.

I've yet to finish reading the last book Bioware released, but if I'm not mistaken, there's something about humans and reaper technology involved in the mix. Perhaps we would see this new kind of enemy?

Also, could be a geth, since they "worship" the reapers, or the collectors...again. Husks, I don't know, would be too "zombie-apocalyptic" for Mass Effect.

forget about IGN crap. they don't know about him or thing running into human neither. Ben is not a name. just easy to call temporarily. because he is sitting inside Big Ben. God, people. do you believe what IGN does? running into human is not human or Turian or Krogan. it's certainly enemy. possibly husk. collectors were dead in ME 2. there are no more collectors. but reapers still have indoctrinated organics in the ships.

DO PEOPLE NOT READ?!?!?!

5 Fingers
Round head
No flashlight nose
Knees bend the right way around, NOT like a Geth's

Its a Husk or an Indoctrinated Human.

Good call. Omega-202. Read the entire forum shaking my head. It's indoctrination people! That's reaper 101, use the locals with digits and limbs to do your ground pounding.
