You Earth-clan may call me a wimp for getting frustrated at Horizon, but this time I kept at it.

This guide turned out to be very useful:
Image IPB
Observations so far:
  • Charge is fun!
  • The Collector platform on the "disabled collector ship" kicked my ass.
  • Charging Harbinger is nuts but fun!
  • The Cain may not kill the Praetorian but it makes it a heck of a lot easier to kill, plus removes surrounding fauna.
  • Charging a YMIR is a lot of fun!
  • Jacob lasted all of five seconds or so during the first firefight of his loyalty mission.  (Which is actually tricky.)  Still, Zaeed picked up the slack.
  • Mordin is really useful now with so many armored enemies.  Incinerate Blast helps out when I'm in the thick of it.
  • A lot of the crew is getting bored on the Normandy.  Miranda almost always gets out, with Mordin and Zaeed joining often.  Sometimes Grunt.
The only "hard" missions now are Haestrom, the Disabled Reaper, and the Base.

I made it past the hump.

Now I've got to plan my insanity run.

Jacob's loyality mission, on insanity, I think only Grunt has ever survived the opening attack because the squad is out in the open and before you can put them in cover they get killed! Usually costs me two medigels at that point. Your poster looks cool, but I can't read all the text ( too small ).

Nice guide. See if you can link a bigger sized version.

right click, view image, and you can see the pic in it's original size. It's linked to the original size, but the boards here auto-resize pics so you either have to post the url or right click.

---Powers

Heavy Charge
Heavy Shockwave*
Heavy Pull*
Destroyer
Heavy Warp Ammo

---Weapons
Geth Plasma Shotgun
Mattock Heavy Rifle
Phalanx Pistol
Locust

Works well for me on Insanity. Just bring a Squadmate with overload.

* These 2 are for either A. The LuLz or B. Husks.
I never see the benefit of Cryo ammo and I dont like it when my target dances cause he is on fire from Inferno Ammo. Swap these 2 for different skills if you wish. Although your Warp ammo will do massive shredding on floating targets.

Woot!  My first playthrough on Hardcore is complete!
  • Charging a Scion is fun!
  • Charging at the top of a stairwell full o' Geth is not fun when the targeting computer thinks you mean a Geth at the bottom of the stairs instead :(
  • It really, really sucks to accidentally Charge. :crying:
  • The Cain is not nearly as, er, useful as it was on lower levels.  The reaper larvae was down to (guessing) 30% health and it still left a sliver of health behind.  I'm not sure whether it was Miranda's or Thane's Warp that actually did it in, they can fight over it if they like.
  • Squad Cryo is AWESOME.

Squad cryo is very hit or miss to me.

Some missions it seems to do fairly well other missions I don't see a single target frosted over.

Charge + Avalanche is also fun. Just thought I would note that.

Do you mean Charging with the Avalanche equipped or to use the Avalanche first and then Charge?

@OP; awesome manual!

Charging with the Avalanche equipped. You can usually charge right into the thick of things and just shoot at the floor to freeze everyone around you.

Thanks for the link Simbacca. Looks cool and effective :)

I used to Charge with Arc Projector. Great against bosses - one shot usually staggers them for quite a while and the effect works regardless how many defenses enemy has left. Problem was, once you were done with Mister Important, most other enemies were death too due to Arc Projector's huge AoE :crying:

@ thisisme8: Thanks for posting those vids. Your two Adept vids totally rock, I had to try CQC with my Adept too and it's great. Helped my get rid of my Vanguard addiction :)

You are a genius!  I always use avalanche on first plaform of the collector ship trap, but its sometimes hard to freeze everyone before you get killed.  But I just tried charging into the middle of that first platform and shooting at the floor - presto - all froze, then harbinger possessed a frozen collector and I literally kicked him off the platform.
xbox on insanity.

It works real well when the most dangerous enemies are in the back (Rocket troops etc). You can just Charge in, take them out real quick, then steal their cover and now everyone else is surrounded.

Interesting, but the gun runs out of ammo, would be more interesting if more squadies could freeze enemies, could become usefull to charge snapfrozen enemies, breaking them on impact or mele
