will there be a Game Of The Year Edition for Mass Effect 2 since the PS3 is getting the DLC packs and the Mass Effect 2 game on the disc.

we'll probably see one somewhere around the time ME3 is released.

why not when the PS3 version is release cause its not fair for the xbox 360 fan if the PS3 can get  DLCs packs for free why can't we get a Game of the Year Edition with DLC for free then.

why? because ME 2 DLC is not ended yet. Bioware said that there will be few more bridge ME 2 to ME 3 DLC after shadow broker. so it is not officially done yet.

Rather than GOTY edition, I want to see ME2 made available on Xbox Live Games on Demand. I want to download ME2 to my harddrive on my Xbox360 with NO DISC SWAP!

yeah, I guess a few months before ME3 hits the market, it will be released. So Bioware gets more potential customers for ME3 ;)

I have the PC version of ME2 and 1, just got a 360 for christmas, so if Bioware releases a GOTY edition for PC and 360, I'd pick it up.

The DLC isn't free, it's included. Mass Effect 2 on Xbox 360 plus the cost of the DLC is cheaper than ME2 on PS3.

As quite a few keep pointing out, the arrival DLC is NOT neccessarily the last DLC.  It is the last STORY based DLC, it is still possible that Bioware will be releasing non-story based DLC after this.

I would personally be very surprised if they release a GOTY edition so close to the release of ME 3.

I'm predicting, based on DA:O's Ultimate Edition and the ME3 release 'time', that we'll see a GotY or Ultimate edition in autumn at the latest. It won't be that close to ME3's release, but it won't be right after the release of Arrival.

This. I already have all DLC, so a GoTY edition would be useless to me. But ME2 on Games on Demand, I'd buy that.

A GOTY edition is priceless to those of us, myself included, who have no constant internet access and suffer from the DRM issues created by the Cerberus Network. The only issue I would have, personally, is that I would probably miss out on using my Terminus Armor that I downloaded...honestly, it's not just the DRM that's an issue; the ISPs across America are simply NOT getting the fact that more than half of the country's 350+ MILLION people are NOT in 4G areas. Most of us barely scrape by nowadays with extremely limited and expensive 3G coverage. It's a real problem, on all fronts...

So you'd rather wait to download 14 GBs, when it takes much less time to swap a disc a few times.

It would be excellent if a GOTY / Ultimate Edition can be released for ME2. I am in a country with restricted bandwidth and this will really help us out immensely, it would definitely be an instant buy for me and many others. I speak for myself, but others might feel the same, I hate the hassle you have to go through to buy all the DLC separately. I truly hope Bioware will put something together for us before the summer ends.

uberdowzen and Legacy-ZA, that post your correcting, was posted 5 months ago. Way before Arrival. Someone decided to drag this topic out of the graveyard.  Arrival is the last story related DLC though, it's been confirmed by Chris Priestly and other Bioware devs on these boards.  Still a possiblity of a non story DLC of some type though, weapon pack or something like that, but unconfirmed.

I think that ME 3 getting delayed into 2012, strongly increases the likelyhood of a ME 2 GOTY or Ultimate edition. A pre holiday release would be strategically ideal, it would get as many new ME players involved and caught up over the holidays as possible, and then shortly after, bam, ME 3 will come out.
