Actually, no it wouldn't. I would very much like some more Anders-time.

Anyway, the guy is clearly Anders, whether he is recruitable is unknown.

I think more people need to watch the trailer in HD because you can see that that mage doesn't have long hair pulled back, he has very short hair. And the hair isn't even red. It's black or dark brown.
You're assuming Anders would be faithfully recreated with the new face morph system.

And yeah, red? Anders is totally blond, almost Theirin-blond.

You can't be serious. If that's blond then my hair is black(hint:I'm brunette).

But seriously, I really liked Anders but I don't really want him in DA2. If I had any companions from Awakening, I'd rather have Nathaniel for a brief time before he leaves for Ferelden. I'm not really interested in anyone post-Awakening though, or having a GW companion either.

There an epilogue that supports his presence in Kirkwall and an epilogue that supports him not being there(namely he's a corpse).
I find it hard to believe that they'd let go a screenshot containing a character that may or may not be dead.

All due respect to Anders fans, but I really hope it's not Anders. His personality was far too similar to Alister's for my liking. I'm hoping the companions in DA2 have their own unique personalities and are not just analogues of DA:O characters.
You're right for me they felt somewhat similair to each other, sure his jokes aren't that similair to Alistairs, but because of his carefree demeanor and being the party joker made me feel that they were somewhat the same, though I don't think he will be a companion, if he is I wouldn't mind it.

his cameo in DA2 could happen before he goes off to Amaranthine.
