I have solved my gfx corruption problem by putting the game on medium graphics detail (texture still set to high). I can play seemingly indefinately without any problems. I have an 8800GT using latest beta drivers, as suggested on this thread, however it wasnt until i lowered the graphics detail did all the problems go. I hope this helps someone else.

I upgraded to a Q9550, and no lag anymore, even with 8xAA and 16AF, so that definitely helps.

I deactivated the PhysX acceleration on my GTX 260, and my problems went away! Sort of.

I managed to play for close to two hours straight before seeing graphics corruption (was more rampant before, NPC clothing appeared miscolored, or lacked color, bloodpools would appear as a red square, Duncan's beard looked like someone had pulled out bunches of it). Once I alt-tabbed to desktop, the game crashed. I restarted and the problems weren't there anymore.

If anything this gives me a reminder to save as often as possible, but it's a good fix (albeit a temporary one).

ATI doesn't have on-board physX that's true, but PhysX still runs on all machines... it just runs from the CPU if it doesn't find a supported NVidia card installed
