All I can say is that I hope that they show off some technologically advanced futuristic cities, because from the trailer it really looked like the Reapers were invading London in the year oh....i dunno...2014 lol.

So yeah, I hope for Sydney, New York, Moscow Rome anything that will have a more international and modern look as London seemed really bland and present day. (at least in the trailer, it may be different in the actual game)

Because it hasn't changed in 200 years, what's another 200?

Ok bit of nerd response to this, but the Houses of Parliament was rebuilt in 1832 using rock from a little village up north in the UK called Anston (where I live :) ) and Big Ben was built in 1834 with the clock on it ticking for the first time a couple of decades later.

So if it wasn't for the London Eye being in that clip (and a really big futuristic building being somewhere in that clip also, then you could easily say it looks like they were invading London waaay before 2014.

As crazy as it sounds, unless something really bad happened (like the Student Protestors of this year got more firepower) I can't see them buildings getting destroyed until... we get invaded by space aliens.

Am not sure what the planning permission would be like for building more futuristic buildings around that area either. Maybe Bioware did some research and found out that wouldn't happen? I mean, we've not bothered modernising those buildings in over 100 years, so why start in another 100 or so?

Also with regards the locations people are listing, who is to say they will look that much different in 100 years time.

Remember those old sci-fi stories of old that said we'd be in futuristic cars and travelling around in space, those years they were set in have been and gone. Sure obviously in Mass Effect verse in 100 years we will have, but it doesn't mean to say everything will be all futuristic and modern.

Besides, wasn't Earthborn supposed to have been born in the slums :P

*Shepard stands upon Greenwich hill looking over the Thames at the rest of London*
Never will you find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy... and reapers... we must be cautious

*prepares to get lynched by some southerners*
:D

I definitly agree with you, However I have a feeling that certain cities, probibly in the US, will have to change the structures around, as buildings get old it becomes more necessary to update the building structure and I think that all of the "important" building that were very important throughout "our" time would stay the same, but homes, and skyscrapers will be built with the design and structure they were with for that decade, and over the next few decades I think the building structure will be completely different so it can be more ecological and efficient.

So I think that London, as well as cities like Washington D.C., New York and many others will be a mix  of buildings from different times, which I think would be unique to have and I really hope they design the cities not completely "futureistic" but with a mix of times, granted there will most likely be only a hand full of buildings from today that will be around in 160 some years. I am so excited though Image IPB

The Forbidden City! I imagine if it's been around up to that point and China has become less of a crazy place by then, it'd be quite the spot to hold a fight in and around.

Others:
Rome
Paris
Jerusalem
New York

And just for the hell of it: Dubai. If their architecture is bat guano insane by now, I wonder what it'll be like by then.

Would be funny if we see Amsterdam, but if I were in Bioware's shoes I wouldn't put it in the game.
