Been waiting since the game came out to see if the awesome tunes from the game are going to be available as a CD format.
Just saw the new addition of the LotSB tunes, yet not even the main soundtrack is out or available as a CD.
I do not buy mp3 or download music, and never will. I collect CD's because it gives me something PHYSICAL to own. Since I don't own an ipod or zune, or any type of portable device that plays mp3's , digital downloads are useless to me.
Digital formats are easily to lose once you have them. A CD is forever and you can make copies so you don't ruin them.
When can we have news about the music for ME 2 including the new additions in CD format?

Another thing might be the recent releases of DLC music.
I managed to buy the Mass Effect CD though, but it would be nice if it had the company of it's "brother(s)"

this has been discussed over and over again officially they aren't making a CD version unless something has changed since the last time this topic was brought up

There is going to be no cd version. After browsing a dozen different threads, and creating one of my own, I sent a pm to jedi, and he said there'd be no cd version. Interesting to know about the LOTSB tunes though.

It'd be nice if we could get a separate download or pay a little extra and get the soundtracks with lossless compression. That would make up for the lack of a disc, IMO.

It would be nice to see something like a special edition release with the full ME2 soundtrack + DLC soundtracks included. Unfortunately, we can't even get a proper ME2 art book, and with everyone downloading music these days...I guess they don't want to be bothered with physical stock.

This has been discussed quite a bit, and I'm sure they feel like there isn't enough demand for a disc version, but it's kind of ridiculous. They put the novels to MP3 audio format, and come on, how big of a demand can there be for that? But they can't get this done? I just find it odd. They even took the time and effort to essentially reprint the CE artbook in a larger size, without adding much of anything, just so they can sell it for $20. However they can't manage to throw a few songs on a disc and overprice it on the store for $15 or $20? It is what it is, I guess.

I contacted the Bioware store a few months ago to get a definitive answer about this.
Here's what I asked:
-----
Both the Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 2 soundtracks listed on the store say "Coming Soon".
Does this mean you planning to sell physical CD copies of the soundtracks?
Yet, I've read on the forums there are no plans to sell the CDs, only the digital downloads currently available. If that is truly the case, then what does the "Coming Soon" mean? Is it there in error?
Thanks.
-----
And here's the reply I received:
-----
Thank you for your message. In the future, we do plan to make CD's available for purchase. Currently, digital downloads only are available. No set date currently on when CD's will be available, but please keep checking back.
We are working on the website to make this more clear.
Thank you,
THBS

They've since taken down the "Coming Soon" tag, and simply state that it's available from iTunes and Amazon. I don't know what to believe since it appears we're getting such conflicting information.
For the record, I'm also a CD buyer, primarily for the higher quality (I rip into lossless format). I'm not happy with the quality of the ME2 soundtrack audio that I purchased from iTunes (since there was no other way to buy it). It sounds overly compressed, lifeless and dull (and I'm quite certain it wouldn't have been recorded that way, the ME1 soundtrack CD certainly isn't like that). Thus, if an ME2 soundtrack CD was released, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I want to get the sound tracks, but as I hate iTunes and I can't buy MP3's from Amazon because I'm not in America (so F**k you amazon) I'm stuck between a rock and hard place with Bucklys Chance of getting the MP3's

I'm gonna throw my wish for a physical copy in, too. Amazon do some amazing quality MP3s for soundtracks (Songs are a different matter completely), but I'd much rather have a physical copy.
It's not just BioWare stuff, either. Mirror's Edge didn't get a physical release for the soundtrack (It did for the Lisa Miskovsky track, but that's it).
Maybe EA should try to distribute with Sumthing again? They did a great job with ME's soundtrack, and a number of other publishers (SEGA with Total War, Microsuck with Fable 3, etc) are using them to distribute soundtracks, so maybe it'd be worth trying to use them again.

I love the idea of BioWare putting all the songs into one CD album.
I bought the albums on iTunes, but I would buy them again if they ever released a CD version or multiple.
I like my music as lossless as possible for the best experience possible.
Let's hope they go for it, don't think theres much else to discuss.

I just had a small idea. When the final DLC comes, why not a boxset of ME2 soundtracks? Priced at, maybe, the price of 2-3CDs ($30? $40? It can't be too unreasonable) and it comes with all of them, so the standard, atmospheric, combat and so forth across a number of CDs.
It'd be nice and it'd make a great collector's item. It'd be even nicer if it was the same size as the ME1 artbook so that it could fit in with the collection quite nicely.

I don't think the fact that Jedi has said there won't be a cd version is stopping many people from hoping.
