I'm sure some of you have noticed that the patches for Baldur's gate are no longer on the old Bioware site. They are simply no downlaods on that page anymore. I've been looking for the 5512 patch for Tales of the Sword Coast and I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where this paticular patch can be found?

The patches can be found on www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG/index_misc.php for BG1
and www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/index_misc.php for BG2.

Kudos to miss_daydream for finding out.

No problem. I probably should have linked them here too but figured the OP posted in the other thread so they'd probably check that. Thanks for spreading the word. Maybe Kevin will add them to the stickies if the official site doesn't put them back up.

Good suggestion. The link to Sorcerer's Place was already in the BG2 Troubleshooting sticky, but I made the patch links available in the first post of both troubleshooting stickies to make them more obvious.

That's pretty bad there is no publisher carrying the patches anymore. Maybe we should get Interplay to host them since they were the original publisher. I'm sure they won't though. EA sucks.

In all fairness to EA and BioWare, they don't have an obligation to host the patches as patches, as well as tech support, is supposed to be the publisher's business. EA/Bio don't even have the rights to the game (just some trademarked logos and such). Having said that, the patches are likely to reappear in the new year when the web folk have some time to set things back up (after all, they really are focused on their own new games).

LOL...now I find this thread...spent hours on the web trying to find it...all the links for bioware/baldur's gate support send you to EA...which doesn't support it.

Also found the patches on Fileplanet, although you have to hunt a bit for the right versions.

Your file system is corupt.
Uninstall and reinstall (including patches) if you still have issues then open a new post with your mod list... good luck.

Bioware really suck...
They are not able anymore to let us download the patches from their official website. They forget their legacy games, tsss...

Bioware only developed the games, Interplay/Black Isle and Atari published it. As of now, Atari has the rights to any & all D&D games, including the Baldur's Gate games. Bioware has not forgotten their legacy games, since they have forums for these games here.
