Do you guys think SR2 will be destroyed or scrapped and Shepard and company will get a brand new ship. Maybe they could get a big ship like the Destiny Ascension to take out the Reapers? Or possibly SR2 with a retrofit with exterior and interior upgrades along with weapon upgrades etc.?

I think SR2 will be our main ship with just more upgrades. It will be strange to kill Shep and blow up Normandy with every new game :)

Destroying the SR2 and bringing in a third ship would just be trite. Best of just keeping the one we've got, and just allowing us to get rid of those Cerberus decals.

Do you guys thing the SR2 is tough enough to combat the Reapers? I mean if the Normandy will be the flagship of the Galactic Fleet, it has to be bigger and more bad ass. Do you guys agree?

Simple no, no, no. Did I say no? No repetition of ME2 please.

More like SR2 Upgrade. It gets a bit shredded at the end so I'm sure they can make some new features without being a SR3

I just hope we can get a new coat of paint on the SR-2 and hopefully a more realistic barracks/quarters for the crew.

The SR-2 had enough bunks in the barracks for all of the nameless crew + Gardner, Ken and Gabby with like 2 beds to spare. And that's not counting Chakwas or Joker or that nameless marine who shows up in the AI core guarding "the package". Where did the companions with no bed in their "private areas" sleep? Garrus, Samara, Tali and Jacob didn't have cots or anything in their areas. There just weren't enough beds or private lockers. I mean you'd think that when they designed the game, someone would have done a head count to make sure it all made sense.

Shepard's ship should match the size of the largest Reaper ship while having the speed of the SR2, maybe even faster as well as the firepower of 50 Reaper's combined. That would be pretty badass.

The SR2 is a huge zero element projectile; its possible that Bioware will use the SR2 as a giant kamikaze weapon against the reapers.  (And it would be a good way to kill off Joker ).

The larger the ship is going to be, the slower and less nimble it will become.

Since EDI is now the Normandy and not just a part of it they changed the number to 3.

Deal with it.

I think it'd be cool if the actions you took in the suicide mission would affect how the Normandy SR2 would look in ME3. Like if your crew is dead, the repairs to your ship will look pretty scrapy. If you destroyed the collector ship, Cerberus decals are removed.

Wouldn't make for much of a game ...

*opens on the Bridge of the Normandy SR-GiNormous*

EDI: The Reaper fleet is within targeting range, Commander.

Shepard: Fire all weapons, full spread.

*The Reaper fleet crumbles into flaming hulks, 50 at a time*

Shepard: *Rubs hands together* Right .....  Well ...... Who wants a drink?:?

Of course, and Shepard should be able to shoot lightning from his butt and fly around with a magic cape and have a mighty ring of power that makes him invulnerable.

I'd hate to read your fan-fiction.  Not only is that absurd and completely at odds with good world building/story writing, it would actively clash with the in game canon.

A) NOBODY has a ship that large in the ME universe.  Even the Destiny Ascension wasn't as big as Sovereign.

B) If there was a ship of that size, it would no longer be called Normandy.  Alliance Frigates (the class of ship that Normandy falls in) are named after famous battles, larger cruisers are named for Earth cities and the largest Dreadnaughts are named for Earth mountains.  If Shepard did get a ship like you described, it would be classed as a dreadnaught and therefore COULDN'T be named Normandy.

They could change that rule just for Shepard because he is the man

This is probably the 12th reincarnation of this topic. It'd be cheesebally as f*ck to get another new ship.

I thought about it and they already have a reason for SR3.
After the suicide mission SR2 gets trashed, like some beams are on the floor, wires hanging and there is even a field barrier thing instead of a wall/window in the cargo hold. (Even though everything is fine and dandy after you continue)
So they could just get it fixed, make it bigger, get upgrades and call it SR3 :P

Why don't we give him a Super Star Destroyer. But with the speed of the Normandy and the weapons of the Death Star.

Bloody awesome is it not?

Probably if Shep returns to the Alliance, as said in the first ME3 synopsis, the SR2 will obtain some udge upgrades and a full de-cerberification. Maybe this will be enough to rename the ship SR3, maybe not. But please... stop wrecking ships and teams.

No, they won't destroy SR-2. Two reasons.

Anti Old Machine Algorithms or whatever

Repairs are being made to the SR2 during the ending cutscene.
